Man, just re read the first 8 pages or so of this thread. What a trip. Amazing how so many of you nailed do many of our current problems back in 2014. someone absolutely nailed the threat of an LAFC starting up downtown with a better focus then what AEG gives the galaxy (even then in LD and Keane’s heyday). The league was really starting to change that year and our ownership was still running it as 1.0 (still is in many ways). Sooooo many great posters/fans that don’t post anymore.
This was interesting from many pages. So apparently fragility and thin skin goes all the way to the top.
Not to pile on, but y'all coulda used a sharp copy editor in a couple of places 🙂Also, capitalizing yourself ("... the Club...") is quite a power play for a bunch that couldn't find their way out of a porta-potty right now https://t.co/DR5e5tMlzS— Steve Davis (@SteveDavis90) May 30, 2023 saw this tweet and thought of this thread, lol.
Ha ha, didn’t notice those stray commas in the first section until you posted this. And it’s Club if Beckerman says it, but club in Klein’s quote. Funny stuff. This decision and announcement may have been a bit rushed.
Obviously the FO saw that: “Let’s eat, grandma. Let’s eat grandma.” grammar meme and weren’t taking any chances.
1663716169386455042 is not a valid tweet id don’t know if this is true, but they are cleaning house if it is. //edit it’s legit. At least four Director/manager roles in marketing posted a few hours ago. Maybe AEG has woken up.
Yeah, it was going around earlier that Galaxy Insider cum Social Media director Adam Serrano was gone. That guy's been around forever, I'm curious what the story is there.
Do they think somebody else will be better at putting lipstick on this pig? It doesn't seem to me that these are the problem areas.
Note they still aren't hiring a marketing manager. Social media and content is a part of marketing, but not a marketing strategy. Social media production and creative/content should be based off a consistent and clear marketing strategy. Not sure the Galaxy have one. Or they equate social media with marketing as one and the same. Nope. But if AEG is indeed cleaning house, good for them.
You might have missed it, but the top job on their list is Senior Director, Marketing. I thought they hired someone new in that role this year?
Serrano was head of digital. Someone pointed out they could just be building up the department since the Apple deal requires a lot more content. I hear in general that MLS FOs notoriously underpay for those possession. The Galaxy are probably better than a lot of MLS clubs but there are others here that could judge that better.
I represent a multi-Emmy nominated sound effects artist who might be willing to join the Galaxy team. He is very happy in his current position but I’ve been authorized to say he would consider a change for a $2+ mil salary plus stock options. If interested DM me and we can set up a preliminary meeting between our representatives.
Lol, I just posted about the pay range they are listing for these jobs. It's A LITTLE less than 2 mil. You might have to reduce your commission percentage.
pfft, StuntPig is not worth 2 mil, however SubterfugeBoar is worth every penny of 2 mil and probably more
I didn’t click the link and thus the tweet was cut off. Thanks for pointing that out, and YAY. I was wrong and I’m absolutely happy to see this. It is a clean house! EDIT: I got excited too soon, and you can guess how I feel about this based on my prior post: Reporting into the Chief Creative & Content Officer, the Senior Director of Marketing will lead our growing in-house creative studio, owning the marketing strategy, innovation, execution, and growth of our performance marketing programs, inclusive of all existing channels and strategic expansion into new channels spanning from paid media to direct mail to experiential and beyond EDIT X2: Read the full JD. Has the right lingo for performance and digital marketing but there’s still too much focus on creative and content for me, and not enough on insights, research, positioning and strategy. Creative/Content imo should report into marketing and not the other way around. That said, I am not a sports marketer and I did appreciate the JD was fully fleshed out and recognizable. Sounds like an awesome job.
