Originally, British players registered before brexit remained as eu, but registered post brexit were non eu. Not sure if that is still the same.

Mbappe is beyond these prices so in a world where he isn't a money grabbing bullshitter and where PSG is negotiating in good faith, I'd understand going above 200 million. Haaland is still somewhere between Osimhen and Mbappe range

You think this is about winning or losing something? Jesus. Its about making a point, and its made from different angles so people would understand. But some opinions here are so dogmatic and entrenched that any other perception is seen as heresy and they immediately start ridiculing and insulting.

The point is people believe some fairytales about this squad, most people on this board were downplaying the weaknesses of this team for the entire season until the rude awakening happened with City. The comparison with Asensio was to show that statsheets can be deceiving and that some players are expected to develop more and become world beaters but don't, and they are great 12th man. Rodrygo would be an upgrade on Asensio in this role. But we need an upgrade on Rodrygo then.

As for Doku, I'm sorry you don't see it, but I do. So do Klopp and Mbappe for example. He is not as good as Vinicius obviously, but he has the potential to be even better imo.

The thing with young players is that as they get older they gain maturity, IQ, decision making, and technique in their game. But Rodrygo already has all this. What he lacks is in the physical aspect and simply his game style. This is not going to change, thats why I think continuing to bet on him is not a good idea.

Wow I did not expect Benzema of all people to leave this summer. I still think he has something left to give next season but I don't blame him at all for taking that offer.

Just wish there were better options available on the market.

It’s pretty wild to think of the captaincy turnover we’ve had.

We lost Ramos 2 years ago. We lost Marcelo last year.

This year’s captains were Benzema, Nacho, Modric, and Carvajal. It’s tough to imagine any of them being here a year from now. It’s looking likely at least 2 if not 3 will be leaving within the next month.

We’re going to need new leaders to step up.

Nacho is next line for the captaincy if Benzema goes. Florentino should use that to get him to extend. I would find that tempting myself. [emoji16]

They make get lucky and not have to sign a single midfielder after kroos and modric leave next summer.

I won't complain, however, if Kimmich asks to leave Bayern and join Madrid next summer.

Would offer 80M fixed plus 20M variable for Kane. 10M easily achievable based on goals and appearances and 10M on personal awards and titles.

If not Kane, some on twitter mentioned Alvarez and that intrigues me.

Mane plays mainly on the left. He will be another Hazard.

Btw with Benzema and Nacho both likely leaving, it looks like Modric will be the captain leading the team in the new stadium. Pretty awesome for him and for us to see in his last season.

Nacho should be the captain. He will be followed by Modric, Dani, Lucas and Kroos. Kroos and Modric are expected to have a lesser role on the field. Dani is injury prone. Lucas and Nacho are usually bench players. It is possible for the next guy to captain some games. I believe that's Fede. At 24, he might be the youngest Real Madrid captain.

I mentioned him several times; he's like a Saviola/Messi hybrid [he can score as well as create chances]. He'd fit in well here and he's already proven himself on the big stage.

Onda Cero | If Benzema leaves, he will change Real Madrid's plan because the club was considering going for Mbappe and Haaland, but for next year. And now they will have to sign a key striker at a great cost, and there is not much other than Harry Kane, the most prominent candidate in the transfer market.

Kane is amazing. But United want him too and also wants to break Alan Shearer's record. Of course Madrid comes with guarantee of trophies but given how long Kane has stayed A la Marco Reus I have some skepticism that trophies mean that much to him.

Utd won't wait a whole year for him though. They will sign another striker if Levy refuses to sell to them this summer and Spurs can keep him for Top 5 CL spot chase than sell to direct rival like Utd. They paid 100 ME for Anthony so 150 ME+ deal for Osimhen is possible if Levy drags it.
