The guy only bags against the big teams, it's bizzare.

I haven't even followed what's going with his next move as I'm in disbelief that any La Liga team would want him.

It appears that Getafe want him and it’s apparently a done deal, the problem is that they will likely get relegated.

He should just move to the MLS but he might seem content on living in Spain for as long as he can.

Not looking good on the promotion/relegation front...

Alfredo Mejia's team drew again so are dangerously close to relegation with one match left.

Reggina were docked point so have no chance of reaching the playoffs spots. Same for Jonathan Rubio team that can no longer gain promotion.

If Choco does end up at Getafe that would likely be in Segunda too.

Turns out Rubio is actually a free agent in summer and is interested in playing in different leagues..

The agreement Choco has with Getafe means he'll only sign with them if they stay in Primera, supposedly.

Rubi scores his 3rd goal in China, he will be called up to the Gold Cup at this rate but I don’t want him starting over Benguche.

Looks like Palma to Rangers, supposedly. Not the strongest league but Rangers will be playing some degree of European football next season for sure.

Reggina ended up finishing the season in a playoff spot. Let's see how they do...

Reggina 5 games away from Serie A... Marinacci's Cosenza are in the relegation playoff and are 2 games away from Serie C.

Despite him not playing first team, if his side get relegated I could easily see him dropping down and being like many prospects that get permanently lost further down the pyramid.

All in all, I would say that was a more than acceptable showing at the u20 World Cup.

Scoring in each game. A equalising goal disallowed against a strong Gambian side. Drawing with Korea with ten men.

Granted two leads were thrown away and the outcomes could have been dramatically better if it wasn't for that. However, the reality is France, Korea and most countries at international tournaments like these are leagues ahead so for that, the effort and outcome has to be commended.

    So we're celebrating mediocrity?

That performance against France was an embarrassment. Luis Alvarado showed how limited he is as a coach. How are you UP A PLAYER and can't manage to string together ONE COMBINATION IN MIDFIELD? I think at one point Felix Garcia the rightback had more shots on goal than Carter, Arzu and Aceituno COMBINED and they're your forwards! Zero cohesion across the board.. Carter couldn't stop a ball and link play to save his life and tbf if it wasn't for some hero-tier performances from Garcia in goal and Rodas in the back, this team would've been sent packing a long time ago.

This Corea and France team were ABYSMAL compared to their previous youth teams. ffs we lost to practically B-Teams(besides Gambia) and we looked TERRIBLE in doing so, so how is that a good thing??? The more context I provide the worse their elimination will look so I rather not point things out like how our players weren't even physically fit enough to play an entire game at this tournament according to Luis Alvarado, or how we lacked any sort of critical build-up play in the mid, or how basic the attack looked, which was overlap in the wings, and cross the ball without looking, followed by a prayer. The only thing commendable about this team is that they had SOME FIGHT in them and some individual stand-outs, mainly against Korea.

The only stand-outs were Isaac Castillo and David Ruiz whom both get the most significant playing time with their clubs out of the U-20 roster. I also fancied Geremy Rodas a lot, he looks like his time with Minnesota 2 is going to bear fruitful for him.

besides those three, honorable mentions for Macias and Aceituno, but besides potential I don't think they'll produce much going forward. The rest can go ahead and find a new career.

Honestly watching them play was like watching Diego Vazquez coach Motagua. There was zero idea in build-up, zero use of the midfield, players could barely even string 2-3 passes together, same ole hoof-ball you see employed in La Liga Cinco Estrellas by teams like Sociedad and Espana... No sense of tactical awareness etc. etc. I can go for days, but no this wasn't an above acceptable result.. it was more of a sobering wake-up call of how bad this thing will continue to be for Honduran football until some sort of radical change happens from the grass root level on up.

We're going to be in the darkness for a LONG time. These players are paying the sins of a corrupt and inept federation and unfortunately I think it'll be another 28 years till we go back to dreaming about a WC. Don't even get excited for USA 2026 cuz you will surely be in for a giant disappointment.

as a coach it's just nuts to me that you can sit there and voluntarily watch your team unable to produce ONE combination pass in the midfield. Like wtf were they working on this entire time during U-20 camps??? Is Luis Alvarado enable to coach up combination passing and movements??? Spacial awareness?? this is like BASIC TIER PHILOSOPHY FOR ANY COACH, especially in EUROPE. which would explain why our players are less and less likely to be exported to Europe anymore. Our player's level of play have went from La Liga and Serie A to MLS and USL 1. Like I'm so dumbfounded as to how your team can play so rigid and look so static when movement and manipulation of space is the FOUNDATION of playing any respectable brand of soccer.

anywho, congrats on Olimpia winning the 36th(?) copa.

Here's to hoping for better days for Honduras.

Most of their signings were not good enough for the Premier League (Orta responsible).

I watched their matches only when Marcelo was there.

Now I'm going to watch Uruguay.

Yea can't wait to see how he tranforms that side. They got some real top level quality. Dominate WCQ then eliminated in Group Stages lol

I hear you, I really do. Football is a results based game though, ultimately the results were a significant improvement on our previous showings... I'm talking 12-0 loss to Norway, 8-1 aggregate scoreline against NZ over 2017/19.

I'm not rewarding mediocrity. Given our level, the results this time were way above our station is all I'm saying.

I was thinking more of the talented lads Honduras tends to have compared to the rest of Central America.

Is it really that bad that we classify a 12-0 loss to probably the best striker on planet earth as a massive downgrade to a 3-1 loss to a 10-man France team, void of that top talent you referred to, after leading 1-0? Bro out of that entire French team, I think about maybe 2 will have significant careers.... THATS NOT GOOD.

They're both EQUALLY BAD especially once you dig deeper into the contexts of the game.

I would be utterly TERRIFIED about the prospects of our future if our kids can't string together the most basic of combination passes in mid ONCE. There's really not one redeeming quality to this team besides what I previously mentioned, they had some grit and some heart(sounds awfully Nad). besides that the team really looked just as bad in my eyes apart from some individual stand-outs i.e. Geremy Rodas y Isaac Castillo.

All of this terriblness really gets magnified when your coach is just there, as was Luis Alvarado. Makes me wonder what could've been achieved had someone like Salomon Nazar was the coach or Humberto Rivera.

I mean that narrative has changed since 08. we really don't produce that much quality anymore.. especially compared to Panama and Costa Rica now. Jewisonne Bennette and Manfred Ugarte would walk into this Seleccion.

Panama has players spread around Europe with a lot of foreign investments maximizing their potential.. we're losing the arms race in Central America. The Suazo, Rambo, Lobo days are extinct.

If I was Real Espana i'd reevaluate wtf they got going on in their Academy. They had 6-7 players make up this team and they were ALL BAD. Makes you realize that Luis Alvarado was a straight up titere. Said he couldn't bring Osorto cuz he's too young and he wanted to respect "the process".. then proceeds to call-up TWO Olimpia players for the WC who weren't part of "the process" at all..

lmao you really can't make this shet up. Man we have to be in our darkest era right now. B League is next, especially if they decide to extend Diego's contract as coach of the NT.
