There are reports we abandoned Kim for Kounde, a more versatile defender.

Big talk of Chelsea being in the mix with PSG.

Either way I think he'd be exactly what we need and at such a young age he's a bargain.

Chelsea will be linked with everyone…and probably realistically be chasing them all.

Ornstein is saying he’s heard that Spurs won’t let Kane go for 100 mil. That they’ll want much more and are prepared to just let him walk next summer.

If it wasn’t Ornstein I’d say this sounds like leaked news by Spurs, but he’s usually pretty reliable. If Kane and Osimhen are both costing over 100 mil, we shouldn’t be interested in either. We’re not a team that’s one piece away from a title challenger where that type of move would make sense. I’d much rather we spend 80 mil on two, less proven strikers like a combo of Ferguson and Hojlund or something like that and still have money for our midfield and defense.

Strongly doubt Brighton will allow Ferguson to go for anything less than something stupid lile £80m

i don't get the fascination with Højlund. the guy had one good international weekend and that's it really.

i'll pass on Ferguson. any Brighton player is going to be £50/60m+ and probably not even the ones we would really want (£75m+)

unfortunate but we'll most likely have to look elsewhere

Since it's probably going to be bargain basement hunting, anyone from the relegated lot that can be more than serviceable?

Maybe Lavia, but that's all I'd consider given our needs. I'd pass on everyone else.

I don’t necessarily think he’s the best option, but if we’re looking to bring in multiple 9s he’s probably the best option for the “backup” 9. He wouldn’t cost a fortune, has some potential, and plays in a way that I think would fit ETHs system well. But if we were only bringing in one 9, it would be a huge gamble making him that guy.

I just don’t see a lot of good options in the B tier of guys. There’s Kane and Osimhen that are A tier but both well over 100 mil. Then in B tier who is there? Vlahovic? Ramos? Muani? All those guys would cost 60-80 and none of them are sure things by any means.

I will be surprised if our budget is more than 100 million. It's going to be 100 million plus whatever we get for selling players. So guys we can get on a free or going to be a premium. Rabiot and Thuram are likely possibilities

Rumors are saying 100 mil plus whatever money from sales, which unless were absolutely useless, should be between 80 and 100 mil.

ETH has already started putting pressure on the board for transfer money. He basically called them out today for not letting him spend this winter and also said that we need to spend big to keep up in this league.

Who do y'all think goes that has any kind of resale value?

Maguire can probably fetch 40-50Mil, maybe? Who else? I don't know that there is too much value sales in the squad.

McT would have value. Dallot or AWB as well, although I would like to keep both.

    Maguire - 40m
    McSauce - 30m
    Williams - 5m
    Axel - 2m

If we can find a ticket for Martial that might be a few more million but I can't think of who else is. I think Fred is an option for sale depending on we can get on the market

i am all for a bargain buy. there are question marks over all the proven strikers and no obvious reason why they choose us over everyone else who needs one.

Højlund just isn't that impressive to me and doesn't have a track record. i've already elected Gyökeres who is a ball carrying, dribbling forward, plays alone up top generally and at least has two high scoring seasons in the championship which is a much closer approximation to the premier league now than it was in the past.

it's a bit of a catch 22. we need someone semi clinical at minimum because we don't have enough goals from other areas BUT we most likely don't have the funds. on the other hand ten Hag needs to demonstrably continue the progress and we really shouldn't place that burden of a better PL finish and a CL campaign on a U21 forward with no track record. hence no Ferguson or Højlund for me.

it's non-ideal either way even if we end up taking Benzema on a free or pull off some extremely clever loan deal

Get Thuram on a one year and then Rabiot unlike a two or three year deal.

If he's probably looking to make himself viable on the market again and take her to sign up for us and having a good season we'll let him get a better deal elsewhere
