He spent too much time with his nagy growing up.

I might be way off on the parents thing then, but I've definitely noticed abroad native English speakers will simplify their language for 90% of the "excellent" English speakers, as well as taking up some of the kind of verbal tics or inconsistencies across various English as a second language speakers. Bottom line as always is to be understood by the person you're speaking with and this can sometimes help.

Glad Ethan got a chance to go up with these guys and it seems like at this point, this is his level -- Upper Championship, lower PL. He's more Brad Guzan than Tim Howard.

Kind of wild how harsh some folks are on Horvath. I doubt he's an EPL stalwart either, but some of the keeping we've seen at Leeds or that Irish guy at Soton has been pretty crap. And they're both rated at $20 mill Euros... Then there's Danny Ward. Even that old man is valued at like 8 mill... Horvath should hope to fail that hard.

Jeez. If Leicester could get $8 million for Ward I know about 40000 people who would drive him to his new club

Yeah, those Transfermarkt numbers seem bonkers, esp given what keepers really go for, but even cut in half, if Horvath has a terrible year in the EPL, it would be great for him.

    Why you hate chocolate?

And nonetheless, Ethan should hope to have a crappy season in the EPL. He could end up at Espanyol or Wrexham!

Marinakis is being very cautious. I doubt he's going to put a lot of money in Forest, not yet. He's said in interviews he intends for the club to gain more experience in the top league and only after he plans to make bigger moves.

Navas is going back to PSG, Shelvey is too young, and Henderson is returning to United. So he may stay as Hennessey's backup, playing cup games.

This ain’t going to happen likely scenario
    * Luton buys his option as their #1

If not, he will push to go on loan again as #1.
He is not going to be a #2 after this past season.

At the same age Ethan has accomplished as much as Tim H. Already and if he can show well in PL has next 2 years to mature

At 27, Howard had two seasons at United as their no1, one season as their back up keeper to Edwin Van Der Sar and a season as the no.1 at Everton (who were a Europa League club back in those days).

Yeah, no way is Horvath in the stratosphere of Tim Howard. Guzan…. Maybe.

Friedel didn't become an EPL starter until 29/30 but the clock is ticking for Ethan... 28 in June... not old by any means for a GK but he's not getting any younger either.

Guzan turned into a pumpkin at 31 or so.

Poor Guzan. He had a very high ceiling and he wasn’t able to emerge as a top keeper in the class of Howard, Friedel, and Keller, BUT, he did re-emerge as a top keeper in MLS for awhile. Until recently though where it’s quite obvious that he probably needs to consider retirement/coaching.

Reporting out of Dublin is strongly linking Luton to a permanent move for Bournemouth's Mark Travers, with veteran Asmir Begovic (released by Everton) as backup.

It makes sense as, despite playing behind Bournemouth's defence, Travers showed reasonably well in his debut EPL season and very well in Bournemouth's promotion campaign the season before, and has been clear that he won't accept a No. 2 slot next season.

Apart from Forest, and then as their No. 2, nobody IMO. It'll be another loan in the Championship (at the business end) or a move to the continent.

Don't get me wrong, he did very well this season but he wasn't a "what on earth is this guy doing in the Championship?" standout or even a Team of the Season contender.

He's a good GK but the EPL is a whole other level, which he isn't at
