Sancho is Jamaican on his father's side (paternal grandmother). He could've played for Guyana as well.

    https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/37576739/jadon-sancho-soccer-next-superstar-only-terms

"The first-generation son of a Guyanese father and a Jamaican mother, Sean, 45, grew up in Kennington. He never married Jadon's mother, so he used football to stay connected with his son. They'd occasionally go to see Chelsea or Arsenal, but mostly Jadon liked to play. "

Plays for Spain but has been in the UK since at least 2017 maybe longer so until now he would have technically become eligible for England.

Doesn't seem like a lot of last day opportunities but Anderson starting for Newcastle today.

Matt O'Riley had the Danish flag wrapped round him yesterday so quite unlikely he will switch back.

He’s not close to getting called up so he has no reason to think about switching. I’m sure he didn’t bring his own flag to the game! someone handed it to him. Plus he’s not going to wear the St George’s flag at Celtic Park even if he wanted to (for obvious reasons).

He's probably close to be called up to Denmark seniors though. It's highly unlikely that he'll play for England again in my opinion. I remember on here some posters were questioning why he wasn't in the England setup over the years. It could be that the FA dropped the ball on this one or maybe he just didn't enjoy coming away with England for whatever reason.

Is he cap tied or not. He was in their World Cup squad but didn’t get on the pitch.

There's no way he would switch. There's no pathway at RB and he's said he's not English and doesn't want to play for us.

He could switch to Ghana through.

And it’s possible he will be in PL next season.

Seems more like the old ‘I’m too good for for the u21s now’. I suspect that’s why Carvalho wouldn’t join up with a Portugal u21s rather than him wanting to play for England.

Joe Low of Bristol City the latest English born player to get their first senior welsh call up.

I'm really not surprised anymore with that lot. I come to expect it now.
Another Wales squad announced, another Englishman picked, but heaven forbid we identify a Welsh player with an English grandmother!

We were after neco Williams before he was capped and the Welsh were up in arms about it

If you look at Wales’ U21 squad most of the options are English born. Even ex-FA director of elite development Dan Ashworth’s son is in there.

They don’t have the depth to fill their U21 and senior squads. Picking a player like Low who at his highest level has played 10+ League 2 games. Not ideal to be calling up to the seniors at this point.

I think they also have picked injured players too. So will probably need more reinforcements soon.

Majority of their under 21s are English born. I thought the point of International football was that nations develop their own players.

Unless Wales and to a lesser extent Ireland drastically improve their own domestic leagues (which are some of the worst in Europe) this will continue to happen.

Well Wales do have two championship and two league two teams but as you say they own league is terrible. I don’t think they have called up a player who attached to a Welsh league team past the age of about 12 for many years.
Irish youth squads at least have the majority of players having been at an Irish club at some point or another.

We already pretty much knew but just to confirm, no Carvalho in Portugal's U21 Euro squad.

If Carvalho had any intention of playing for England he'd surely have said it, and begun a switch to England rather than taken all the negative PR he got for backing out the Portugal under 21's which just made him look bad. All he said is he didn't want to be called up for the under 21's anymore, not for Portugal in general.

I've noticed that from the players we've had who've rejected the under 21's, none of their careers have ever really progressed as expected. Seems to be quite telling about their attitude to their career.

He wouldn’t have been able to play in the England under 21’s this cycle anyway. However as 2002 born player he is eligible for next time round.

But if he wanted to switch back, he'd presumably have made it clear. Or said he was taking his time to consider who he wants to represent. He never asked not to be called up by Portugal, just not for the under 21's. He was on their long list for the world cup.

As it is, he just looks like he has a bad attitude and has burned a lot of bridges.

I'm not so sure about that. With most of the duals there is a period of silence before a switch is announced. I don't believe that is the case with him, but you never know.
