I doubt Newcastle sign him. They have a good crop of CBs. Man U maybe, but it seems MU want to sign Kounde instead now.
Spalletti's had enough 🚨 Napoli president de Laurentiis has confirmed Luciano Spalletti’s imminent exit.“Yes, Spalletti told me he’d prefer to take a sabbatical year, could I say no? He gave me a lot and I thank him”.“He came to me and said that he’s given his all, that a circle has been closed”. pic.twitter.com/S1e580homL— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) May 28, 2023
Well can’t complain Spal got us a scudetto and in a way it’s best this way… Remember when Lippi over stayed his welcome ? Next season will be interesting…
I think he does know that, and it's why he's bowing now. The next step is winning the Champions League, and he knows from personal experience the Napoli fans can get hostile fast. If things don't get off to a great start, it's going to be misery for anyone in that tracksuit next year. ADL's talking about a 99 year lease on the stadium, and some major building works. I found the answer as to why Kim's release fee has been quoted all over the place. It's apparently linked to the revenue of the destination club. Manchester makes twice what Newcastle does, so what might be 40m EUR for Newcastle might be 60m for Manchester.
This is who I'd prefer. I have a few buddies who are Barcelona fans and they miss Luis Enrique so make of that what you will.
Spalletti apparently made some comments at an event today, including: “A volte ci si separa per troppo amore. Il Napoli merita il meglio e io non sono pronto per questo. Ho detto a De Laurentiis che ho bisogno di un anno di pausa qualche settimana fa. Sono felice che l’abbia detto ieri. È la realtà” "Sometimes we part for too much love. Napoli deserves the best and I am not ready for it. I told De Laurentiis that I need a year off a few weeks ago. I'm glad he said that yesterday. It is the reality."
Enrique makes sense, but Serie A could be a greater challenge then he might anticipate. Let's hope he can attract the right kind of young talent with him.
Luis Enrique didn’t do all that well when he was at Roma. That team didn’t have much to work with though.
Apparently no approach will be made to Italiano prior to the Conference League final, so another week. Sounds like the sticking point with Enrique is player investment.
Luis Enrique has some doubts on Napoli's ability to keep Osimhen and Kim this summer. Interesting. With Kim we know the situation. I'm guessing ADL told Luis Enrique that he wants to keep Osi, but if a monster offer comes on the table, he can't say no. That's just my speculation. ADL insisting on bringing in a coach that plays 4-3-3 is the right move. IMO it's Italiano or no one
Report on Sky's report, I just like the language used: The landing of Luis Enrique al Naples a real Danaidi vase is being revealed for the president De Laurentiis. Well yes, second Sky, there seem to be other objectives in the sights of the Spanish technician: the Premier League, or the ability to train the Brazil. Instead, a larval situation awaiting developments for the other three competing: Sergio Conceicao of Port, Vincenzo Italiano of the Fiorentina is Thiago Motta of Bologna. But not Luis Enrique, from what it reports Sky.
I saw the article on stadium and it said it is what he planned in 2015. Have you seen new pictures? Very interesting re Kim. Will be at the Maradona for Samp game. Will update if I hear anything on coach and mood of fans.
Sounds like it was an insanely hot ticket. I envy you. I looked for new pictures today but I couldn't find anything. The 2015 Giancarlo Scognamiglio Architettura project images are here: http://stadiumdb.com/designs/ita/stadio_san_paolo_2015 I think the 2010 Manica Architecture plan looks more like what the recent articles are discussing (removing the track, seats 7 meters from the field). http://stadiumdb.com/designs/ita/stadio_san_paolo_2010
