Seems like Valladolid is going back down.

I guess this is the end of Ecua Brighton too. It was nice seeing our guys play together for a season.

It’s almost 10 years since Chucho passed away.

If Valladolid gets transferred, I'd suspect they sell Plata....they were always a bit tight on cash and I think he probably should look for first division football anyway.

This just came up on my feed. It’s from 10 years ago against Germany.

Oh man this made the premier league watchable for me again. It's insane how well that club has done after losing piece after piece to chelsea, including their Manager!

This season felt funner to watch than when Valencia and the Chucho's, or Felipe's were there for a bit. Maybe it's because im older and actually catch the games,

Pervis and Caicedo have been such a rock for that team, watching them go toe to toe with the top 6 has been awesome. Sprinkle in a little Sarmiento as well!

Obviously watching Valencia playing finals and lifting the prem is still top memories but overall this was more impressive given the category of the team they played for.

Colombia U20 teaching Ecuador how its done. They figured out slovakia in a matter of minutes after the second half started. 4-0 in 15 minutes

Big test tomorrow, too. The 9-0 win against Fiji should not weigh too much in their minds. Hopefully it gives the team enough perspective to come in and realize they can score goals by playing smart and collective football. The team has talent and can certainly put up a fight- they need to be mentally ready.

To make it more humiliating , half of that Nigeria squad doesn't even play at a pro club of the Nigerian league, they are amateur players. They humiliated both Italy and Argentina in this tournament.

Got to give their coaching staff recognition to who ever scouted these players and managed to build a WC squad from it. One thing I feel like our team is missing are lower division players. Our 2019 squad had both 2nd and 3rd division players. Would have been nice to seen a lower division player get called and play his heart out on the field.

Some good reminders in this post. I completely forgot that.

im watching Gambia and Uruguay and looks like VAR is taking no BS chippiness from players. Red cards on both ends of the field after reviews.

2-0 at the 18 minute mark is just awful.

The team’s defense is super goofy at the moment. They simply look slower and generally lacking for any kind of ideas and inspiration.

There’s a Fiji hangover, for sure.

hangover or being exposed for what they are? I’ll be the first to admit I had high hopes after the Slovakia game.

they qualified for this by winning two games in the conmebol qualifiers. And beat a Slovakia that was stomped by Colombia. And a Fiji that well…

This is the same Korea that Honduras tied with 2-2 with one man down. They are not a powerhouse.

Kendry might be helping us save face if the penalty stands.

Scoring the penalty helps to slow the bleeding and get some confidence back.

On the stat lines, Ecuador might have the possession advantage, but Korea scored early and often. They hurt us badly in a lapse of 10 mins. I think we picked it up, but we still look sloppy and defense has been suspect almost for the full first half.

We improved after Paez put the team on his back and ran down the field and won a penalty.

    half time now.

This defense is very suspect, they’ve only earned 2 clean sheets (Bolivia and Fiji). I hope to eat crow ! Let’s see if they can adjust better than SK.

this should be a revenge game for these guys

I was thinking the same thing…SK is the reason we fought for 3rd place in Poland. What other mental ammunition is needed to go into that game focused (and careful)?

The team needs to open up space for Cuero by making runs

I'm confident the kid will score as soon as space opens up for him

Well that’s 3-1 in the 47th minute. Got caught defending poorly on a corner kick.

0 focus and just look asleep.

Time to listen to the rest of this on the radio. Just frustrating to watch them play this way, feels like Senegal all over again.

    What the hell man.

What’s keeping us to make it to the next level? It’s just too common.

Saw it in Qatar, Sudamericano sub 17 against Venezuela and now this.

I go back to my last statement. I really felt like there was poor scouting in this cycle. I would have preferred to seen a bunch of humble low division players play their hearts out and go out with honor than to see the players we had aboard+ LDU & IDV preform so badly. Celico scouting was surely missed here.

This cycle started off poorly and maybe if Miguel Bravo had taken this cycle from the start it would have been different but I stay firmly on picking up an experienced Liga Pro Coach. I would have loved to seen Ever Almeida get picked up after Jimmy Bran got sacked. That man would have built a WC squad out of Imbabura alone and got that team to preform quick. Or maybe we could bring Celico back. I wouldnt want him to stay in Peru for too long. The thought of him possibly coaching one of their NT down the line and making them more competitive woudlnt be good for us.
