This is gonna be one of those games where USMNT and Leeds fans both lament how bad he was, but the metrics will give him the 2nd or 3rd best rating of the Leeds players because he's winning his duels.
Well, if he is not back at Juve, maybe a Prem club will grab Wes based on the long throw ins, haha. He has had about 5, and 3 of them have led to danger for Tottenham...
Truth is Leeds have not lacked for chances and should have been playing this direct crap since Xmas. But they can't score. Just not in the DNA right now.
The ticky tacky football in the left corner is getting tiresome. Rodrigo as a false 9 is interesting considering his injury. With McKennie playing high up in that Bamford role. Opportunities are coming but the ball seems to fall to the wrong players. It would be funny if they brought on Aaronson with that energy of his to play hero ball. in other news, come on west ham.
Dead and buried No one could have kept this team up with that backline. Awful. Very curious to see where McKennie winds up next season.
Game. Set. match. That'll do it. It is probably best to go ahead and remove hope from the equation. What a strike from a tough angle. Hoping TA and Wes find good homes, and honestly, I do not mind if BA develops in the Championship....
Right on. Pep could not win with this back line. Whether that is the board or Marsch's fault, is debatable, but they did not bring in the right reinforcements, especially in the back.
Do all Leeds need is a dozen goals right as things stand? How about a double-hattrick for Weston, then Aaaronson on for half a dozen goals to save Leeds from relegation? Edit: I think they need 14 goals actually, Tyler Adams then off the bench to score along with Harrison then...
No matter what you feel about him as a player, this club dropping 30 mill on BA - as well as $ on Rudiger - was a mistake. Just money badly spent. Keeping, Defense, even a backup/2CM partner for TA all needs not met and they didn't buy nearly enough goals.
Why are Leed's crosses (specifically Ayling's) all 30 feet high? Put some damn lower trajectory on these, ppl. And with that, Wes' time at Leeds is done. Rumor is that the full story will come out soon in the off-season, but McKennie feels that the club lied to him when they signed him and broke some promises within week 1 of his loan. Who knows for sure.
58 - Asking Rutter to come on and save the club when they're 2-0 down with 30 or so to go, when he hasn't been trusted or given a chance for weeks, is pretty wild isn't it?Aaronson for Struijk, Firpo for Wober, Rutter for McKennie (booed as he comes off).0-2— Graham Smyth (@GrahamSmyth) May 28, 2023 And thus ends Weston Mckennie's tenure at Leeds United Football Club.
They have hated him from day 1. Unfortunately for him, to the fans he represents the wastefulness and bad decision making of the board. And his 'friend' 29/Deigo mendoza has fought with leeds fans on twitter for months.
from worst to first, or the opposite? JONES TO BLACKBURN MCKENNIE TO LEEDS BRADLEY TO VILLA (worst) Bradley did an interview on signing day, played one match, and then was never seen again in the starting 11 nor subs....That one still ranks as the worst for me
Kane scores his final goal for Spurs to destroy and shred of hope for Leeds. I am flipping over to the Pulisic match
