Green is having an excellent game. Two hockey assists. Furth are leading 3-0. If results stand - Hamburg is winning their match - Furth prevents Darmstadt from winning the 2nd BL title.

Oh my! Julian Green with a banger! 4-0.

what a goal! Dips his shoulder, drives in from the left and absolutely hammers a shot top bins from the 20ish yards.

Darmstadt actually end up winning the title based on goal differential, if results stand.

Nonetheless, Furth was excellent today and Green was outstanding. A goal and two “hockey” assists. It’s been a really good season for Green personally. Furth has been up and down but they are young and could be positioned nicely to make a promotion run next season, according to the match commentator.

This loss ended up costing Darmstadt the title because Heidenheim comes back with 2 goals in added time to win. Heidenheim catches up to them and wins the title on GD. A mere point would have won the title for Darmstadt.

And now Hamburg, who won today and stared the day 2nd in the table, face the 16th placed Stuttgart in the pro/rel playoffs. Exciting day in Germany.

If Julian were 15% faster and 30% stronger, he'd be a very good player, as in Reyna level.

He has a good shot, clear vision, and is actually smart. The last is rare among our YsA.

He has always had one of the best long-distance shots in the USMNT pool. He's scored off that simple move for SpVGG a number of times. I've always felt he should have scored more club goals on dead balls, but his career has been cielinged by the fact that he is just not quite a top-tier athlete

It's worth noting that, at 28 years old, Julian has never been out of contract (if he has, it's never been for more than a few weeks in the close season).

Not too many of his fellow Bayern II players from 2015 or 2016 can say that. If they're still playing pro football at all, that is.

How many of those peers got a long shot chance at a World Cup? And if any, how many of them scored while there? And how much did that brief cameo propel his career forward? Margins, margins...

His contract expires next summer so this is the time to renew or move somewhere else also within driving distance of his mom's house.

Plays 87 minutes against Liverpool, including a goal, in a 4-4 draw. Scrub Mo Salah with a late goal to equalize to ruin the fun.

For a guy with a very average Bundesliga career, Green has managed to accumulate just enough highlights to mooch beers off footie fans for the rest of his life (if he drinks...) "You think scoring against Liverpool is cool... Did I ever tell you about the time I scored in the World Cup... Beertender! I'll have another..."
