Subbed off after 62 minutes against Karlsruhe. Doesn't seem to have had a good game - seems to have missed a couple of chances.

Not the same since it was obvious they had no shot at promotion.

Quite a nice half... a brace:

What a mission! @TBoyd91 moves into the penalty area, gets stuck on the opponent, falls - but then just makes the "ground wave", as you would say in breakdance jargon, and heads Erik Durm's cross into the corner to make it 1:1! (27.)

2:1 for the #Betze ! This @TBoyd91 gets the air here well The strong preparatory work of #FCK junior player Nikos Vakouftsis, who simply runs the ball off his opponent and plays the decisive pass to T, should also be emphasized.

Just showin some love to Boyd. Guy has really had a nice career; on multiple levels and continents he has scored goals with a smile. Wish he got a little more run with the USMNT and that Kaiserslautern got promoted this year to give him one more chance at Top Flight action. Either way, he’s a true professional and the “Cyclops” has kept his focus throughout his whole journey.

What an impressive career turnaround Boyd has had the past few years. His career looked near a dead end in 2019 after an unimpressive stint at Toronto FC, then he moved to the 3.Liga and finished in the top-3 in the goal scoring charts 2 seasons in a row after bagging 14 goals his first season at Hallescher. Then he gets promoted to the 2.Bundesliga and scores 13 goals to finish as the 6th highest scorer. An impressive career turnaround.

You wonder what if for this guy had injuries not decimated his career between 2014-2019. He came very close to making our 2014 World Cup squad as Jozy Altidore's backup and had things turned out differently for him, he might have provided some needed continuity and cover for Altidore given all the injuries and no-shows Altidore had in big tournaments (2014 World Cup, 2015 Gold Cup, 2016 Copa America) where we were so reliant on Bobby Wood or on an aging Clint Dempsey up front.

    Interview:

Hello Terrence, around 4,300 readers of our magazine took part in our large survey. You were voted Player of the Year by a wide margin and a total of 1,189 votes. Congratulations on that! How important is such an award and such fan feedback to you?

Terrence Boyd: (laughs) Well, it's the first personal trophy I've ever won in my career. It definitely makes me happy and of course it's a great honor. But you also have to say that it's probably a bit due to the position I'm playing. Basically, I see myself as a small part of the team and I think I can accept the award more or less on behalf of the whole team. If the guys didn't put me in the limelight, I'd just stand there ineffectively.

Terrence Boyd: As an American, I was of course very happy that we did the training camp in the USA. We found the best conditions in both Louisville and Minneapolis. The lawn you work on has to fit and the pitches were spotless. We didn't miss anything, everything was perfect. Looking back, it was an excellent training camp.

They even met up with a reunion of kids whose parents were stationed at Kaiserslautern & became club fans.

A 32 year-old scoring 13 goals and 3 assists in his very first BL2 season is a guy with real football skills who was always good enough for an extended spell in lower-middle BL1 if his career hadn't been derailed by persistent injuries as well as (possibly) the likely psychological consequences of those.

Good to see he's cheerful and upbeat. He's still got a season left on his contract. It'd be great if he could lead FCK back to the Bundesliga and get a swansong contract renewal with some BL1 PT.

    Here's hoping

Cyclops with the opening goal against Koblenz as these FCKers run out to a 3-0 first half lead in a cup match.

Comes off the bench after those FCKers took a 2-0 lead. 2-1 now over Paderborn.

Full time and they held on. Cyclops yellow card in the 98th. Paderborn twitter feed complimentary about his clock-killing. Stats aren't good but small sample size.

Cyclops comes on in the 81st minute of a 1-1 draw. Somehow commits 3 fouls in short minutes, but does not help find a game winner.

The draw will keep FCK on the fringes of the promotion race.
