What’s a job guarantee and how did the club give Carlo one? Did they give him a five year contract extension already?

Saying “no babe” if your girl asks if her bum looks big in this dress is not a weight guarantee.

“We have one more year on his contract.

We are very happy with him…”.

    Both true.

“…(We might sack him in the summer regardless).”

    Also might be true.

Didn't Flo end Carlo's first stint 6 weeks after he supported him publicly?

One thing I like about Carlo is the loyalty he shows at least in the press. It’s refreshing after Zidane’s or Mourinho’s tantrums in the past.

If Carletto stays on, I think it is a combination of:
    1. We already renewed the old guard and can’t walk that back.
    2. There isn’t a good alternative out there. Xabi stays another year, Poch just joined Chelsea (not that I’d want him), Tuchel just joined Bayern, Nagelsmann doesn’t speak Spanish, Raul bottled promotion for Castilla etc. The only other option is Zidane and he is mercurial as we all know.

The signs seem to point towards us putting a bandaid on this for one more year and start in 2024 with a blockbuster transfer window and Zidane or Xabi at the helm.

It's amazing how Carlo defends and continually starts some players who've been ass after the WC and then grills others..

Very harsh considering how much of a leash he gives other players.
His form is better now too.

Really hopped the Brazil rumors were true. Unfortunately it looks like we have one more year of Ancelloti.

Tchou doesnt have the pull in the locker room as the vets. Simple as that, and painfully obvious.

He's 22 and hasn't even completed his first year at the club.

    Coaches are stubborn

    even the nice ones

they’ll go to great lengths to justify their decisions and will stick to them just to not be proven wrong

    Of course.
But that doesn't justify carlo fielding injured and out of form vets repeatedly over him.

The Davide bit relates to the training sessions. Anyone who thinks Carlo is out there every day setting up the cones is daydreaming.

    Yup.

Don Carlo setting up training cones would seriously hurt his swag.

Which is fair enough except unfortunately the only mid who seemed remotely inform consistently for most of the season was playing at LB, fans see what they want to see depending on who the player is, IMO Tchou has been nowhere near the form he had before the WC, he just hasn’t been particularly outstanding over the other mids during that period of time, (although some here would like to believe so) and when that’s the case any coach is going for tried and tested over new guy,

He was not worse than the starting mids. Especially in that 2nd leg champions league.

I agree that Tchouameni took a huge hit mentally after the World Cup. I at least understand that selection choice.

Yup, systematically benching a player does wonders healing their psychological scars and upping their confidence.

Modric and Fede (not a veteran btw) have both been trash after the WC yet start games unconditionally – even through injuries.
