Yikes, you can still referee with myasthenia gravis? Or maybe you need to keep reffing in order to stave it off? More power to you, Bobby!

RIP, St. Louis gal, Tina Turner. . . . At 16 her grandmother died so she moved to St Louis to live with her mother. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1958 and immediately began working as a nurse’s aide at Barnes-Jewish Hospital . . . . https://vocal.media/beat/tina-turner-formerly-known-as-anna-mae-bullock A quarter century later, while in college, I worked in the alumni office at Wash. U. Medical Center, which included Barnes-Jewish, and Turner's tenure there was still discussed with pride.
Totally unique style, great singer / song stylist. I'm sure there have been others, but off the top of my head I can't think of another female African-American singer who sang with a rock & roll sensibility like that, other than blues singers but even that is a little different style.
Here’s What Happens When Your Lawyer Uses ChatGPT A lawyer representing a man who sued an airline relied on artificial intelligence to help prepare a court filing. It did not go well. . . . There was just one hitch: No one — not the airline’s lawyers, not even the judge himself — could find the decisions or the quotations cited and summarized in the brief That was because ChatGPT had invented everything . . . https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/27/nyregion/avianca-airline-lawsuit-chatgpt.html

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! Speaking of which, I posted this question over half a year ago here but, in honor of today’s holiday, will post it again here: ————————————— Of the five major pro sports leagues in the U.S., three of them have taken an already-established holiday and made it “their own” in the eyes of American sports fandom. The NFL has long had Thanksgiving, for the longest time broadcasting two games in succession on that day (the first usually hosted in Detroit, the second in Dallas) and now broadcasting three games in succession on that day. The NBA has been doing the same thing in more recent years on both Gregorian Christmas Day and MLK Day, particularly with the showcase game on Gregorian Christmas usually (but not always) being a rematch of the previous season’s NBA Finalists. Even the NHL had gotten into the act for the last decade or so with its New Year’s Day Winter Classic. While MLB does something special for the presentation of its games played on summer’s three unofficial beginning, middle and end days (Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day, respectively), I don’t recall the league ever really claiming any specific established holiday as “its own” to the extent that the aforementioned leagues have. Which brings us to MLS: would it work for MLS to choose an established holiday during its season to fully make “its own”, perhaps a lesser known holiday so as not to compete for the sporting public’s attention with MLB? If so, which holiday could/would that be? Arbor Day? Flag Day? National Hot Dog Day? Something else? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
