Is it me or was that a boring game to watch......?

Last couple of goals this team has scored both of them flukes.....lucky they haven't been 2 shut out losses.....

Hope the front office is looking to add some offense.

Quakes slowly starting to slip out of a playoff position.

There was also a long period of discussion following the Dallas goal. Can someone clue me in?

I have to admit that I’m so bored with MLS this season, that I’ve started looking forward to the mass confrontations and poor refereeing.

I dont know, this season has put me to sleep more then not. However I've seen enough JT Marcinkowski to know we need a new keeper, if its aint Daniel, then we need 2 new keepers.

Well it's been a long time since Jon Busch. Stat wise Joe Cannon wasn't that good either, but still better then things we have lately.

Low percentage cross and ultra low percentage prayer back header, perfectly under the bar...extremely unlucky...Rodrigues could have stepped into him, but it was so low risk...too bad.

With Mensah out and Beason already on, Luchi would normally bring on more height late to defend against crosses into the box...I guess Munie could have been an option to get Defensive presence in the box...I don't have a problem subbing in more defensive height late, imo it is a good move, unfortunately, Luchi didn't pull the trigger on bringing Munie in...probably should have come in for Monteiro.

The Earthquakes are currently 5th in the Western Conference and 13th in the league overall.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! :(

It was a great cross , dipping towards the nearside 5-yard box with great pace and a great header. I don't blame Daniel on that as he has to play the cross, I do blame Espinoza and Thompson for not pressing the crosser at all and allowing him plenty of time and space to put in the great ball.

On the upside, LAG is losing at home and Chicharito just got ejected…

    We suck.

We remain a weak team, with too many brain farts, and not enough energy. At home, we need to play hot. Instead, we were slow almost all game.

We need to get our butts in gear!

Luchi definitely went to "prevent" defense as soon as we scored which ultimately prevented us from winning but we also have to be realistic looking at what options we have on the bench. With Tsakiris we will hopefully have a better CM option to bring on when we do decide to take off a Yueill so that we can retain some creativity and ball control but that is still definitely an area we need to bolster this summer. A true #10 playmaker in the middle is still the biggest need for us.

NO! Best case, we are sixth! You need to look at PPG. Anything else is inaccurate.

It was also bad to lose Paul when we did. That made a difference.

    Beason played well tonight.

Benji was marginally better. He had few really good moments.

The parking the bus, and lack of fire are what killed us!

Process over result for me. I’m not going to waste cycles wringing hands over the result, but the process wasn’t good enough. 0.4 xG for a home game is really bad. And our “see the game out” process is not working either. We need to hold the ball a lot more and not absorb ball after ball after ball into the box. A few times we had it and passed it around a little but then it went quickly all the way to Daniel and he booted it.

On the + side we are missing a lot of guys and some players stepped up. Beason had a very good game. Benji did pretty well. I felt OK with TT at RB because he’s played there so much and he and Espinoza went right back to creating danger on the right side like they hadn’t missed a beat. Daniel had a good game.I need to see a replay of the goal though.

Marie was helped into the locker room hobbling. He’ll be out for a while. Hopefully we get Akapo back soon but otherwise we need to start training someone else at outside back to be on the bench. Maybe Skahan, or bring Tingey up. Heck I wouldn’t mind seeing Verhoeven out there.

We don’t have a bus, we have a shuttle. Your midfield to our goal, free Quakes shuttle!

I thought it was him but at the stadium they credited Beason. Now in match summary they say Benji with Beason assist. I need to see the replay. But Benji’s good in the air, one thing he does better than Cade.

I agree with your assessment. Our process isn’t good enough. We keep leaking late goals.

But, I’m also pissed at the result. We’re droppin* spots in the table and we can’t afford to. Our season is slipping away before our eyes.

    Mierda!!

    Go Quakesfans!!

As an indication of the weakness in closing out results, the Quakes would be first in the West (yes, by PPG) if their scores at the stroke of 90:00 stood as final results.

MLS is such a slog in the middle of the pack. So much parity, and getting points is like pulling teeth. And now this is real gut check time. Two road games this week, one in Seattle and the second at mile-high CO, and we're missing:

    Akapo
Mensah (depending on length of suspension)
Marie (looks like he'll be out for a while, had to be helped to the locker room)
    Cade
    Niko

And then we come home and play....Philly - IMO one of the top 3 teams in the league - a very tough out. Man!

I heard Mensah is a single game suspension, so he should be back.

I've lived through the Music City Miracle and 13 seconds in Kansas City.

Relax. Sun is coming up tomorrow.

Someone on reddit said that this year's team is the "reverse Goonies", which sounds about right :). Karma coming back to get us 11 years later. I wouldn't mind the occasional loss of points after 90 if we won a few back after 90 but I think we have 0 meaningful / points altering goals after 90'.
