Ah I'm done with it now. No time wasting here.

There are dopes...and then there are serious dopes.

Wow, you really have no concept of reality if you think the majority of Roma fans are happy about our effort in league play.

I get upvotes for the same posts on Reddit, which is far more active than here.

I'm not going to apologize for being disappointed about finishing 6th-8th in the league every year, no matter what manager we hire. There are always excuses from some people who need to make themselves feel better about our failures.

Simple solution though- stop commenting on my posts. I never gave two craps about your views until you tried to impose them on me.

At least we found out there is a pulse beyond the usual mundane dribble @La Magica

I would be worried about Sevilla. This league trend from Mou is concerning.

Are fans happy with this position? No but ones who see with a neutral perspective can see this happened because of the injuries and not because of a team that bottled it or wasnt well enough coached. The club needs champions league money to fill up the squad depth again and play at this level. Good starting side, excellent mentality throughout the squad instilled, paper thin depth.

Reddit is a good gauge for sensible opinions on football? How about listening to the fans going to the stadium who see a team on the pitch again. You take is 180 away from them. You talk about no concept of reality but fail to acknowledge that this team was comfortably positioned to push for the top 4 finish a couple of months ago. Everything was coming into place around the time of the Salzburg, Real Sociedad games. Play was improving with the full players available and points were starting to be consistent. Joses good work was coming together. You still want to deny that was happening?

The fact the team got railroaded with injuries in the months ahead destroyed that. You ignorantly put down to excuses. What exactly do you expect from a team with some of the line ups they have had to put out over the past few weeks? You talk about money being paid to the players so they should automatically beat other professional teams in the league no matter the circumstances. So, lets get this right, your big brained take is Roma with a bunch of kids and a few first team players should get thrown onto the pitch and gel instantly while taking on seasoned Serie A sides. And you want to talk about reality? If you said that to any serious football person they would laugh in your face but you go ahead and get your back clapped on reddit. Being more active doesnt mean anything.

The best thing to happen to this club in the long term will be if it doesnt win the cup, is to finish outside of Europe entirely next year and focus solely on the league. Imagine the meltdown you would have if that happened?

No chance of that happening unfortunately, we are too many points ahead of 8th. Unless Fiorentina wins their final and that pushes us out of the Conference League place?

Both sides of your argument make decent points. I don't subscribe to the idea that playing for 1 point every match and sometimes getting more than 1 point is yielding better average points per match ratio than being more aggressive and playing for 3 points, or at least pushing for multiple goals advantage before inviting the wolf in your herd.

Jose's approach is maddening and unappealing. It might bring results in tournament competitions, but Serie A isn't a tournament competition and we are too shit in both defending results and counter-attacking to be able to play those tactics and go for top 4.

Ultimately the team is not playing well and the squad is made of mediocre, old or old and mediocre players. Some of this blame goes to Jose, some to the other people from the management. Some of the blame for the iinjury crisis goes to Jose, some goes to whoever isn't fixing Trigoria to ease our injury crisis every ********ing season.

Simply put - our performances are inexcusable. If Juve weren't deducted 15 points, we wouldn't bee anywhere close to 4th. Next season would be harder - we are fighting for 4 places against 5 other good team + Atalanta.

I don't believe that we'll makde it to 4th with Jose's defensive approach. Our record against anyone who can string 3 attacks in a row is atrocious. Which is most of the teams in the top of the table.

They had a nice win against Juve, then the Sassuolo crazy game was 3-4 or something defeat but that was followed up with 3 solid wins in a row. It was at this point that top 4 was very much alive. Then the feyenoord game happened and the injuries started piling up in the following weeks. At that point you're stuck between a rock and a hard place trying to get a patched together squad ready for the Europa league quarter and semi finals. It's not easy but he went with the better choice given the limited options. The last couple of weeks will have been completely geared towards preparation for the final. They will be working overtime in the background to get a decent team on the pitch.

The squad is paper thin. Remove Smalling and we can't keep clean sheets. Remove Dybala and the goals disappear.
Everything hinges on beating Sevilla and getting CL money to fill this roster out.

I wish my wife loved me as unconditionally and defended me in all cases as Magica and others do for this team and it's players! This season has been a huge disappointment and has been rather enjoyable as a fan/spectator. A lot of ugly.

I went into this season thinking we might have one of the strongest attacks in the league with Zaniolo, Abraham, Dybala and Pellegrini. I was dead nuts wrong. Overall, out of these players Dybala is the only one that delivered.

Mou is excellent at tournament ball. But league play this season has not been a spectator sport

Just calling out the fickle nature of some of yous. Without an injury crisis you would be saying well it wasnt pretty but overall a good job and another year moving forward as the team would be sitting comfortably in the top 4 at this point. Is the club in a better place now with Jose or 2years ago with Fonseca? The answer should be pretty clear on that one.

We are not the only team in the league to lose key players for extended periods of time. This team failed partly because it wasn't deep enough to sustain its form with those injuries and because some of the players left with proven track records didn't deliver.

Management had to know Dybala was going to get hurt often, but they mistakingly thought Tammy and Belotti would actually score some goals anyway.

In either case, fans have a right to be angry and disappointed.

Other teams having injuries throughout the year doesnt negate the specific points discussed about Roma.

Name me a team with even a remotley similar set of circumstances to Roma in any league at this present time? High expectations with an extremely tight budget after missing out on the CL money for seasons now. Theres isnt any i can think off. Jose had them playing at a very competitive level until 6 weeks ago. Squad depth undone the league run and they chose to scrap hard in the EL against Leverkusen. It succeeded. Another matchup you were out to lunch on.

You think management didnt consider Dybala's likelihood of picking up injuries? Injuries or not, you are lying if you say you still wouldn't have signed him after all he has shown.

Is the last 6 weeks a true reflection of the ability of where this team is currently at or is it a lack of depth? You can cry and complain all you want, I will still point out when you're illogical in doing so.

We had Osimhen injured last season and that injury more or less derailed our great start.

IMO Roma have a very thin squad. It was clear Mou was working a minor miracle getting Roma into a position above Atalanta for a time, let alone the others. He's doing a good job, building a team that can soon challenge for the higher honors again and maybe get to playing better football too. A lot of that starts in building up the midfield, although Pellegrini and Cristante have improved under Mou and proving to be decent soldiers for you guys now.

Only 8 goals were scored between Abraham and Belotti. If you could sim this season 10 more times, I doubt either would be this terrible.

There are definitely areas Mou has failed at so far, team identity is probably the biggest imo. But the fact this team could still qualify for CL with everything that has gone wrong is pretty incredible.
