Is this Seattle - New York ref (Jon Freemon) the only black official in the league? I can't think of any others off-hand.
Playing out of the back almost goes horribly wrong for Charlotte. Chicharito jumps on a weak backpass and is in behind the defense, but a defender gets a foot on his square pass toward Boyd.
Cincinnati win again and pulls further ahead of their Eastern Conference rivals. MLS-best 33 points. Colorado still winless at home.
Another sin of the concurrent start times is that, even though there are 3 games right now, they're all at halftime. Offset one by 15 minutes!
Charlotte FC keeps giving the ball away in the back, and the Galaxy keeps failing to turn that into goals.
Seattle just missing the final pass on tons of chances this half, then the Red Bulls get a 1-v-1 that Elias Manoel, somehow this team's second-best striker, fails to convert. Still 1-0 to Seattle against all odds. If Heber had any talent, Seattle would have killed this game off 15 minutes ago.
Strange goal for San Jose - barely crossed the line. Utterly bizarre defending from Tomassi who simultaneously blocked his GK from getting to it.
A few minutes ago, it was the Galaxy's turn to give away the ball in the back, and Charlotte's turn to fail to put away the chance.
That's a very late equalizer for Dallas in San Jose. Neither pressure on the crosser nor pressure on the shooter = way too easy for Dallas.
Handbags after the game in San Jose, one SJ player (Judson) having to be picked up and bear-hugged by a teammate to keep him from fighting, with the coach also helping hold him back. Something clearly happened as the player was absolutely incensed
Can we start the toast thread, because I'm sure the Rapids are done. Longest we've ever gone into a season without a home win by multiple games. Longest we've ever gone into a non-Shootout/OT season before getting a third win.
Completely bizarre. Marcinkowski was incensed as well, so I have ZERO idea what the heck happened. This all followed a horrific foul by Grueso, on a Dallas player. So, I am not sure why it was SJ so bent out of shape. Obviously, I missed SOMETHING.
It's not, it's MLS Cup Playoffs play, it falls under a different statistical header. Shootout stats are also never included in that context.
Thanks, I'm not arguing with the stats just that some commentators are more loosey goosey than others. I've heard both from "perfect from the spot in MLS league play" to "he has never missed a penalty for the Union" depending on who is doing the match. The Union get a lot of penalties so his streak in MLS league play is impressive.
I’m watching TORvDC on replay from The D.R. Anyone else care to give it a go and watch a few minutes of the first half and see if replays are turning to a black screen? TOR goal was replayed fine, but blanked on the replay of the possible TOR handball a few minutes later and a few others here and there. 27:30 DC handball just a black screen. does Apple not have replay rights to replays other than goals?
