RSL travels to Minnesota to take on a Loons team with 18 points and in 6th place but only 3 points above the Claret & Cobalt. Minnesota is coming off two straight MLS wins after a stretch of 4 losses and a draw in the previous 5. RSL loves to struggle in Minnesota so should be interesting. RSL is in kind of a good run? One loss in 5 but 3 of those are draws. With games coming fast and furious the lineup could be interesting and at this point hard to predict. Should be fun.
I'm waiting to see what happens on Wednesday in Colorado. Both teams should be going for it. If I heard correctly, COL has a bunch of players unavailable. RSL rested several of their better players. Just need to see better set piece defending and I think RSL advances. I could totally see a heavily shifted lineup on Saturday and coming away with at least a point. RSL has depth, even if it's not as good as the club wants us to believe. I'd give Beavers or Gomez the start. Ruiz isn't available. That's about it for lineup info at this point
MacMath Hidalgo Glad Silva Brody Ojeda Jasper Savarino Rubin Damir Musovski Bench: Beavers; Vera, Eneli, Pierre; Ruiz, Caldwell; Jacquesson, Gomez, Pierre Did Anderson Julio hurt himself midweek?
Injuries: OUT: Zack Farnsworth (thigh) OUT: Diego Luna (international duty) OUT: Moses Nyeman (international duty) QUESTIONABLE: Marcelo Silva (back) PROBABLE: Erik Holt (shoulder) Disciplinary Report/One Caution Away from Suspension: Emeka Eneli (RSL) Justen Glad (RSL) Pablo Ruiz (RSL)
Ugh. Super unlucky. But still liking RSL’s chances on the road with this game. Just have to weather the chance of a momentum shift prater the own goal
I was trying to watch that first half while I finished watching the last stage of the Giro at the same time as I finished making dinner. Here are some thoughts: - at this point, I'm almost rooting for Rubin to not score. It's too funny/impossibly depressing. - the buildup and finish on Sava's goal might be the best we're going to see this year. - we're not really a good team, are we?
I love the Loon call. Superb. And totally germane to that part of the world. You can hear it on the speaker occasionally. C'mon Jasper, play that ball faster!
