That's a great goal from Carranza mixed in equal measure with lousy defending. Gray could have closed him down on the ball in, easy, so even if Martins missed the clearance, still put Carranza off.
After a very subpar/poor first half they made the most of the only two chances they got. Beautiful finishes by Carranza.
3 - D.C. United is the third team in MLS history to make three substitutions in the first half of a match and the first since Chivas USA vs Portland in October 2013 (also Fusion vs Chicago in 1999). Overhaul. pic.twitter.com/WwjQZCtiIJ— OptaJack⚽️ (@OptaJack) May 28, 2023
Safe to say that Wazza was NOT pleased with the intensity and effort level in the first half tonight..... Have to say, DC United is MUCH improved over last season thus far. At least they were last wednesday in Chester, even though the Union's intensity was very lacking. Benteke is a beast and is going to be a problem for all defenses.
Vanni Sartini is wearing a shirt on the sidelines in St. Louis that says, "The World Needs More Nerds"!!!
A goal happened in Montreal. Montreal 1-0, Offor scoring a tap-in against the second-half run of play. Not sure how the ball got all the way through to him.
Carranza hits the post!!! Club Foot scores 1-0 over Miami Potential Red Card for NYC's Martins pending VAR....PK to Philly instead!!!
Eduard Lowen with an incredible free kick goal to beat Hasal of Vancouver in the 10th minute. 1-0 STL.
Gazdag converts from the spot, 3-1 Philly Steve Cherundolo called Philly's big three of Gazdag, Uhre and Carranza the triangle of death...... Those three are heating up over the past few weeks......
