The first 35 minutes were pretty awful. The ball movement was slow, especially Benteke and O’Brien. Also, I’ve never thought Durkin is any good, so maybe I’m biased, but he isn’t even USL level as a wingback.

The last 10 give me hope.

I’m curious about the triple sub. For one thing, why not do it at 40:00? For another, why right before the half? They only played 2 minutes, but Toronto knows what adjustments to make.

 

I'm listening to the MLS audio and they seem fair to me. They are calling the shit that is DC in this match correctly...

 

Durkin is great with occasional long balls across the pitch and he is good at reading runs to protect someone like Ruan who runs forward without a care in the world. He is a journeyman in MLS that is an asset to a team but isn't a difference maker. He has moments but overall, he is a good squad player not a star.

Toronto just pressing really heard and playing with lots of heart. Can they keep it up? I think we will get some chances once they slow down and we get a bit more space.
