I would imagine it's pretty uncommon for athletes to vape. Doesn't seem like it would be great for conditioning, and this guy's making $6.3M? And then to be doing it at the training facility and on the plane? Doesn't sound great.

Quite a few vape. Especially in the NFL. TT is thr one who vapes the most on the team. Itd just become trendy to vape. Id assume the younger the more common.
I know it’s not the same as smoking but for a sport where there’s such a premium on cardiovascular fitness, seems dumb.
Shea liked Voodoo donuts, as is recall. No one cared. Seems like the vaping controversy in Toronto is a contrivance (“it’s a bloody big deal”) to mask a larger issue. TFC was a clown show long before the Italians arrived. Indeed, TFC has “almost uniformly” sucked since entering the league in 2007. (Apparently that phrase is apt here under the new journalism definition.)
Its very dumb no doubt lol. Shea eats donuts all the time, he had a video with his family doing donut day on his youtube channel (not sure if its still around), and they did a lot of unboxing videos with his kids it was cute. Athletes are still human, and they eat, drink, poo and sleep and enjoy things everyone else does. WNBA star Kelsey Plum smokes cigars all the time lol. Goose and Dayak were big cigar smokers during there time playing as well. Video Games and Cigars.
Shea used to say that he liked to eat a bowl of ice cream every night before going to bed. I think when you are putting in that much work day and day out it's not a problem. I think an occasional cigar is not as bad as a smoking or vaping habit, where you're doing it every day or possibly multiple times per day.
Seems like Toronto has lots of issues, based on this reddit thread. Not just the Bernardeschi vaping thing but the 2 Italian stars not getting along, issues with perceived nepotism, Insigne not really wanting to be there, etc. There is one humorous story where during a club meeting where Michael Bradley encouraged Bernardeschi to speak out or something, Bernardeschi said "well you're the coach's son", and then when Mark-Anthony Kay spoke out I guess supporting Michael Bradley, Bernardeschi said "well you're the coach's other son!" . The guy sounds like quite a character. In the meeting, per multiple sources present, Bernardeschi quipped “of course, you’re his son” to Michael when the veteran midfielder spoke up to encourage Bernardeschi to air his issues out in the meeting, and “of course, you’re his papa” to Bob. At one point, when Mark-Anthony Kaye interjected, Bernardeschi referred to Kaye as Bob’s “other son.”
I don't think the vaping itself is as big an issue as (apparently) disregarding club rules, and doing so repeatedly after being repeatedly asked to stop. There appears to be a power struggle between star player(s) and coach, and that's not going to work. Bob is trying to gain control but I don't think it's a winnable situation and I don't think he'll last.
Yes I agree with you. Kevin Goldthwaite and others were featured on a video about pre game rituals, he ate a 5 piece chicken nugget every game. He said he did it since youth soccer, his dad would always take him and it stuck with him.
Luton Town beat Coventry City in penalties to earn promotion to Premier League in football's most lucrative game. https://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/65526232 Riches to rags to riches for Luton Town. Last in the top flight 31 years ago, and then went into a tailspin where they dropped all the way down into the non-league 5th tier only 9 years ago.
Tuned into the TFC game to see if there's more dysfunction but they've played pretty well and lead 2-0 over DCU, with 2 assists by Insigne. Both goals scored by 20-year olds, including I think the guy that replaced Bernardeschi? Wayne Rooney made a bizarre 3-man sub during stoppage time of the *1st half*. Weird. I don't think DCU had played that badly to that point, so I don't know what he was thinking.
According to: https://bird.makeup/users/cbssportsgolazo/statuses/1662543379094294531 Rob Edwards has had a WILD 12 months : - Secures promotion to League One with Forest Green Rovers, wins League Two Manager of the Season - Hired by Watford - Fired by Watford after only 11 games - Goes to Watford's biggest rival Luton Town - Wins promotion to Premier League
Lorenzo Insigne gets two assists in Toronto’s win! I’m betting like the Jermain Defoe exit, Bernardeschi will also be gone soon. TFC 2- DCU 1! https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/with...ulders-the-load-in-much-needed-toronto-fc-win
Nether Insigne or Bernardeschi are DP caliber players. They are good, national team club players but they also were playing on great teams at Napoli and Juventus. It's a lot easier playing with world class players at every position than it is to playing with a bunch of scrubs in MLS and you are supposed to be the main guy. I know you have to adjust to the league you are playing in but some players for whatever reason just don’t jell in a new country and environment. Pirlo was the same way and his skills couldn't be utilized in MLS.
With Leeds relegated from the Premier League, two US National team stalwarts, Tyler Adams and Brendan Aronsen, barring a trade, will be playing second tier football next season. Weston McKennie, on loan to Leeds from Juventus is probably glad he won't be there any longer considering the 'serenade' he received when he was subbed out today against Tottenham. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/leeds-mckennie-league-relegated-fat-30098672
Juventus and coach Max Allegri don't really want Weston McKennie back either. He will probably be loaned out or transferred to another club somewhere in Europe this summer.
Looks like the U20's drew New Zealand in the round of 16, so good chance to go to round of 8, but can't take anything for granted.
They should win pretty easy I'd say. I saw the game argentina vs New Zealand and NZ are not good at all. Argentina played their bench and put 5 on them. I'd even go further and say the US team is better than the argentina team. What's helping argentina a lot is playing at home. We (argentina) didn't even qualify for the event. We got in because the tournament got switched to Argentina last minute...
