Sure, they don’t care about losing hundreds of millions, good for them. A profitable business is more valuable than an unprofitable business though. People keep trying to tell me MLS teams are losing money, but I find it hard to believe when dudes pay half a billion for one.

Crew Soccer Expert Favorite Miguelol Berry got the start for Atlanta last night and was subbed off in the 53rd minute of a 4-0 Atlanta victory.

It was a rough break for our former talisman, as he could have really turned his season around. As it stands he has played in 11 matches this season, including 5 starts, totalling 491 minutes. He has rewarded this faith in him by producing two shots, and zero shots on target.

Rough times for our former guy.

If I knew that Miguel Berry wouldn’t pan out to be a prolific goal scorer for years and years in this, I probably would not have started that thread in an attempt to have some fun during an otherwise pitiful season. Sorry about that.

Anyone have any ideas on the wealth of the ownership group? Curious where it falls compared to other MLS teams

I posted some estimates a few months ago right after he sold control of Flying J to Warren Buffet for $11 billion. He had previously sold a chunk of it for $6 billion, and he already owned some high value stuff like the Cleveland Browns. And he still owns 20% of Flying J.

If I'm even close, Jimmy is easily in the top five in terms of net worth. The bottom line is that he can afford whatever he wants to afford.

Yeah like buying out a bad contract if Bez can find a good player that doesn’t suck. Then sign him to a reasonable deal. You know like improve the team.

To answer my own question is looks like Mohamed Mansour is worth 3.6 billion. Doesn't really mention the rest of the group. However, that feels a little bit on the lower side when you have to drop 500 million on just the expansion fee.

The Indian tribe isn't very big but they own a casino. The new owners don't have to build a stadium so that saves them a lot.

Could be worse. We could have lost 3-0 to DC.

How bad are the Galaxy right now?

This was one thing I was wondering. They are a Federal recognized Indian Tribe which means they have Tribal sovereignty. Would this then mean technically you are allowing an outside government entity to own a team or is this basically like another municipality owning a chunk of a team.

My understanding of tribal designations are a bit fuzzy but was curious if anyone has really answered that question.

I heard last night's Chicago-Atlanta game was "very crazy with lots of red cards."

I won't give away anything else.

In the Liga Mx semi-finals, second leg ... Chivas had to beat Club America by 2 goals, in the Azteca.

An unnecessary lunge led to a CA red card ... while America was cruising at 1-1.

Chivas scored three times after that, one pulled back by VAR for an off the ball foul.

    Chivas - Tigres Final.
Neither finished in the top two in the Clausura.

    Epic collapse by America.
Might have a new manager by the time they roll into Columbus for the Leagues Cup.

The tribe has a captive corporation for their business ventures such as the casino. I'd imagine it is putting up their share of the cash to get the team. From the MLS side, it would be a standard business setup, similar to other team's LLCs or corporations. They won't be playing on tribal territory so there shouldn't be any issues of sovereignty or application of law involved.

With their 3-1 victory against the Vancouver Whitecaps, @stlCITYsc reached 25 points (8-4-1) in their 13th game, becoming the fastest expansion team in @MLS history to reach 25 points in their debut season.

The previous mark was held by the 1998 Chicago Fire (14 games).

Half time in the first leg away to Leon. LAFC look rattled. No one is playing well. Full CONCACAF. Down 0-2.
