The situation in Toronto must be pretty bad. You have the two Designated Players, Federico Bernardeschi and Lorenzo Insigne most likely hating or disagreeing with their coach then in turn, the coaches’ son Michael acting as a translator and most likely liaison between Bob Bradly and them. If they fire Bob, Michael will still be on the club... I mean they can keep him on the team and I'm sure he would be a professional but sooner or later, the situation will create a lot of animosity within the group by keeping one or both of the Bradley’s with the organization.
Well if/when they fire Bob they not only have to hire a head coach, they also need to hire a Technical and/or Sporting Director/General Manager. Bradley is not only the coach, he's also the General manager. The issues in Toronto are far deeper than Bradley and their ill fated DP signings. Bill Manning needs to go. From there, they need to decide how they are going to run the club. Toronto sits in a talent rich area, has a great Academy, great facilities, etc. They lack a clear and concise vision as to how they want to build and maintain their club. Outside of the Leiweke and Bezbatchenko era simply spending insane amounts of money for MLS has never worked for them.
Bernardeschi's getting left out of the 18 tomorrow for Toronto, too. BREAKING: Bob Bradley has made a "coach's decision" based on internal discussions that will see Federico Bernardeschi not in the squad for Toronto FC's match vs. DC United. His future at the club is apparently not in doubt & the expectation is he will be back in the mix next week pic.twitter.com/KXSBVg5WNd— Michael Singh (@MichaelSingh94) May 26, 2023
Is that true? I saw a few videos of them together eating and lauging. Of course that was in 2022 and things I'm sure could have changed since then.... Bob Bradley was right on benching Bernardeschi… No player should speak out publicly against his coach regardless of how much he disagrees with him.
The Toronto stuff gets wilder! 💨 Federico Bernardeschi has been admonished for using a vape pen in the practice facility, including training room & the team plane, despite being told multiple times it was not allowed, sources tell @PaulTenorio, @joshuakloke & I.That + so much morehttps://t.co/pPINymIdL5— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) May 26, 2023
If Toronto can get out of both contracts I bet they would do it in a heartbeat, neither of the Italians is worth what Toronto is paying them .
