    I don’t think we have a thread on this….

good match going on in the second leg between Almere and Eindhoven. Almere just drew level over the two legs in injury time with a real nice goal. Extra time now.

tomorrow is VVV with a slight lead on Willem II and Roda with a slight lead on MVV. Hoping for MVV, I have a soft spot for them and I enjoy the city of Maastricht very much.

Almere pulled it off with a nice headed goal off a corner around 110’ and goes through 3-2 over the two legs

I like that Willem 11 striker, Jizz hornkamp. He first broke on to the scene at heerenveen but had to leave because he was deployed at RB by the coach then. He wanted to play striker and joined Den Bosch in the eerste divisie where he scored 25 goals and contributed 8 assists. Willem 11 picked him up in eredivisie back then but were relegated last season after finishing second last.. This season he had a slow start due to injuries but when he returned he lived up to his expectation scoring 11 goals and 6 assists and taking willem11 from mid table to fourth or fifth I think and into playoff. I didnt watch the game but I see he scored both goals in the 3-2 loss.

I would like to see him play in a good team and around better players. Wassem Ben yedder esque striker of monaco. Comparising the style off course.

  4. It's interesting to see how striker van Bommel is going to do, as he's hotly pursued by several clubs.

I rememberhim becoming popular on the internet because of the name.

Does anybody have a link to explain how promotion relegation in Eredivise works? Some leagues, I know make the teams have a playoff match where the club to be relegated and the club to be promoted play each other. In other leagues, the top two or three get promoted or top two get promoted and the third spot is a playoffs between teams 3-7.

  6. The first division (in other countries called the second!!) season calendar is divided into 4 periods. The team that gets the most points in the period is the period champion and earns a play off spot. Then the teams that end up just below the Eerste divisie champion (that gets direct promotion) fill in the remaining 4 clubs, but if one of them already has a spot as period champion, their spot goes to the next club in the ranking.
These 8 clubs battle it out to be reduced to two remaining clubs and then have to fight with the two lowest Eredivisie clubs for the right to play Eredivisie next season.
So the system works to get a season long price to win for all clubs in our second tier. If you for instance sucked during the first two periods, you still have the chance to win a pro/rel play off ticket. Your season only ends when you wasted the last chance in the 4th period to get the 4th ticket.

Live with most things I'm sure they've been several different attempts trying to get it right and make it fair for clubs. This seems like something that the general public is happy with which is good news for everybody involved.

  8. I think this system would be a better option for the MLS than the one they're using now. It introduces a sort of champions run within the season's schedule to get the play off ticket.

IMG_2318.jpeg Here’s the bracket for those who were asking about it. Willem II has turned it around already, up 2-0 at rust

Matthys, the keeper of MVV has been outstanding all season… but he had a massive “fout” which gifted NAC the first goal and they’ve been on top since. Already 0-3. And then the NAC fans throw beer like idiots.

I watched the English Championship playoff final today but turned it off at penalty kicks cuz I just feel sad watching kicks. Do you think for these kinds of games we need to skip the extra time and just go straight to kicks

There was a play of for the Dutch U-18 championship between PSV and Ajax today. Teams were tied with both goals coming in the final 10 minutes of the match. I was surprised that they went into 30 minutes of extra time for U-18s. Neither team threatened and they went to PKs with PSV winning (typical for Ajax).

  16. He scored more than he assisted (15 vs 5), but I just saw his TM sheet that indeed gives his position as LW.

see I thought for youth team games the extra 30 minutes had been canceled on almost every level in Europe so that is really weird.

Yeah I believe for knots in your men it should definitely go straight to kicks

NAC pulled a goal back late to salvage 1-2 at home vs Emmen.

I kind of feel like Emmen is going to pull this out and be victorious over Alemere/VVV to stay up.

  21. For the last ticket into the Conference League:
