On for the entire 2nd half, since Frankfurt are being routed.

And managed to be fouled and drew a red card from the opposition.

I love this decision from his manager.

Regardless of the score line, it's a vote of confidence and sends a message to Paxton and the squad that the manager thinks the kid is ready for this level.

Frankfurt and Oliver Glasner, it is being reported, will part ways at the end of the season. I wonder what this means for Paxton who is starting to assert himself as a contributor in the 1st team.

Also…. Thinking out loud…. I was Matt Crocker… I might be giving Mr Glasner a buzz. Though it seems Spurs are the interested party.

Crocker will probably go with Jesse or Hasenhuttl.

It means the last match changed his club's minds about his prospective release. He went from a curiosity, to a guy who they could envision aiding them in getting a result in the Cup final, even if it's just a few minutes as a WC. That would even make it worthwhile to hold onto him.

If not for the Cup final after the season, which would extend his stay to the KO's, he probably still would have gotten the conditional release that Paredes did. Though the u20s were already stretched thin in group.

Hopefully the Pokal and then Gold Cup with his brother.

Getting Paxten minutes with senior team is still important for getting work permit in England, no? That would make his potential more attractive to his current team.

Paxten got in for the last 5 minutes plus stoppage. Game ended 3-0.

I‘d often call a comment like this pure lip service, but they played him a lot. No reason to play him that much if they didn‘t see something.

    Good luck kid.

So... Frankfurt holds him out of the U20 WC only to play 5 minutes across the last two games? DNP today. Wolfsburg have played Paredes for a total of 7 minutes over the past two games... Each has seen a decrease in minutes since the denial for the callups to the U20 squads... although Paredes has been cleared to play in the knockout stage if they can make it.

They should've released him for the U20 World Cup.

It does seem strange to me that he was getting more and more minutes leading up to the U20 callups and then they make a big thing about holding him back only to knock back his minutes since. There are two remaining games... including the big Pokal Final. If he doesn't get legit minutes in the final two games then it would be a huge mismanagement of the player IMO. Hold him back to help you play then fine... but holding him back only as an assurance against an injury seems wrong. I dunno. If the Pokal game wasn't looming then it would be a hands-down s@** decision. But that is a pretty huge game given they are currently out of the Euro slots. Wish they had given him a chance today. What a waste of an opportunity for Frankfurt. Can't even beat a team in the relegation zone to keep the heat on WRT Euro Qualifying. It likely will all come down to that Pokal Final.

They were up 2-1 around the time he might get subbed on. The game script didn’t make sense to bring him on although surprised he didn’t after it was 2-2.

Watched his minutes. Not super impactful, but was out there for turning a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 win. Was part of the buildup for their second goal, drawing some defenders and dishing to the guy who made a good cross, and very late on, got a yellow for refusing to give the ball back to the other team for a free kick after a foul.
