holy crap, that is as good as your lineup can get! The best possible lineup... although I think being so attacking-oriented could possibly leave you vulnerable to swift counter attacks... Good luck against Bahrain. I predict 2-0 or 3-1 for Iran.

p.s: I didn't know Hashemian can play on the sides. Should be interesting to see if Mahdavikia, Karimi, Hashemian and Daei can all play well together.

This game is live on SBS Sports here in Korea too... should be interesting to watch (though I've run out of beer and can't be bothered going out to the shop :( )

Can't they put Vahednikbakt (sp?) where Hashemian is in that lineup and play Hashemian as a center forward? and If needed Daei and Azizi can come off the bench... maybe Daei's in more of a goal scoring form, I don't know.

This should be a good game. Bahrain can't defend but they can attack so this should be good. Two attack minded teams going at each other.

I hope Iran will do better in the second half. Ali Daei should play better in the next half. Javad Nekounam is our best player so far. He is playing like a worldclass player.

    My observations so far:

    1. The ref is crap.
    2. The pitch is crap.
    3. Both teams play like crap.

I am pissed. I just hope Iran wont lose.

Korean commentator said, "Both Iranian and Bahraini players are dragging the ball too much on the field." What do you think?

Honestly, I think Bahrain was a bit better than Iran in the first half. Let's see what will happen in the next 45 minutes. :)

Well, my worries were true, they didn't gel well together today at all... looks like its the holland syndrome (great players not playing well together at times).

They'll need more time together for sure. It won't get any easier next match against Japan, so it better happen quick.

    0-0 FT

So much for Iran crushing Bahrain. SOME Iranian fans, need to learn when to put a sock in it.

This has to be the second worst performance I have seen from TM in my life. It can only get better against Japan.

    [FT] Bahrain 0 - 0 Iran

Bahrain played better than Iran at home soil. In my opinion, they deserved a victory but they couldn't win because they didn't know how to retaliate quickly. I think the Bahrainis procrastinated with too many useless dribbles. Anyway, Bahrain was pretty outstanding in the first match even though they failed in their attempt to astonish all of Team Melli supporters. Abdulla Al Marzouqi's header was barely saved by Ebrahim Mirzapour. Had Mirzapour missed it, Iran would have taken 4th place in Group B.

The worst must be our game against Bahrain almost 4 years ago:
    Bahrain 3-1 Iran

This was not a good performance of Team Melli. Javad Nekounam was outstanding but the other players made too many mistakes.

I didn't expect such a lousy performance. I think this was Iran's worst performance since the infamous Iran-Oman match in the Asian cup!

I'm really disappointed with the performance. But the result is still acceptable for an away match. Japan almost tied NK at home so a tie against Bahrain in the hostile environment of Bahrain, under the watch of a pro-Arab idiot referee, is nonetheless acceptable.
