Wilms is poor, but the combination of Hendrich - Janssen looks really weak too. Oberdorf is on her own, as both Lattwein and Roord's form continue to fluctuate without any credible options to replace them. With the attack nothing more than a group of individuals most of the time.

I never thought this would be the scenario right now... but after predicting them a likely winner, I have absolutely no idea if Wolfsburg's even capable of making this years UWCL final...:(

Oh... PSG's coach and players should take a lot of credit today.

After being lucky to get past a depleted Bayern last season, this time a depleted PSG could easily argue to have been the better team over both legs of this years UWCL quarterfinals.

Seeing good coaching in action within the elite of women's football something I always enjoy witnessing. Even if Wolfsburg through to the next round, it should be one of PSG's players who takes home the POTM award (but they won't)

Lyon benches both Dabritz & Marozsan, while Chelsea starts Berger & Leupolz…..I’ll be cheering for Chelsea!

LOL.... if I'm being honest, I was shocked to see Däbritz continue to start in a CM role for Lyon. I don't think she's been the same player since she left Bayern, with Lyon probably being better served to use her as a wide forward (if they knew this still her most effective position)

And then she see's her match wining first goal for Lyon eventually count for nothing, as the VAR referee didn't like the way a Lyon player would breath on Chelsea's forward inside the PK box...

Leupolz left the field with her face covered in blood, and we'd see no free kick, nobody booked. Chelsea's forward trips over her over feet in the last seconds of extra time, PENALTY...

Sorry, I thought people wouldn`t believe me that Köln scored 4 goals in a game after 10 games without a goal.
    Köln - Duisburg 4:0(3:0)
    Zawistowska(16), Islacker(32,45+1,51)

Meanwhile Turbine Potsdam has played three matches today to avoid schedule difficulties later in this season (because of the repeated cancellation of their games this season).

    Frankfurt - Potsdam 0:1(0:0)
    Chmielinski(76)

    Köln - Potsdam 1:3(1:0)
    Moorrees(22) - Cerci(60), Kössler(73,88)

    Essen - Potsdam 0:5(0:4)
    Orschmann(5), Holmgaard(16), Weidauer(19), Cerci(28,53)

Potsdam has left the relegation place with these wins
    7.Essen 17
    8.Bremen 16
    9.Köln 15
    10.Potsdam 14
    11.Meppen 13
    12.Duisburg 13

Potsdam have given themselves one hell of a chasm to escape if the want to avoid relegation, but with Freiburg's run of defeats, this game could be interesting viewing for the bottom of the league...:coffee:

But at the top of the league, using recent form, and stylistic differences, I'm thinking Werder Bremen could be one hell of a annoying task for Wolfsburg to break down...

Even if I did notice glimpses of the best elements of Wolfsburg return for very short periods Vs PSG, Weder's frustrating style saw them only lose 2-3 Vs Wolfsburg during the first half of the season...:cautious:

The 2023 NXGN Nine Female winners (no order ranking):

    • Linda Caicedo – Real Madrid (Pictured above)
    • Aoba Fujino – Tokyo Verdy Beleza
    • Aline Gomes – Ferroviaria
    • Wieke Kaptein – Twente
    • Franziska Kett – Bayern Munich
    • Vicky López – Barcelona
    • Monique Ngock – Reims
    • Jaedyn Shaw – San Diego Wave
    • Alyssa Thompson – Angel City
[IMG].... Soooo, Kett's projected a bigger prospect than Alber now?

I know exactly why they've done this... being 18 and finding regular match time for Bayern, sounding far more impressive than someone still playing for Hoffenheim's 2nd team.

But this process still seems pretty incorrect to me if it allows Kett to be rated higher than Alber...:cautious:

I predicted something positive potentially happening for Potsdam today... but I couldn't predict/forsee the amount of positive squad rotation we'd get from Stroot today... wow...:speechless:

It's going to sound odd looking at the final score for Wolfsburg Vs Bremen, but Wolfsburg actually started this game looking very lethargic, allowing Bremen two very good chances to score.

But not long after Lattwein had to be replaced due to suffering a random shoulder injury, we'd see Wolfsburg's work rate and passing accuracy increase to a level Bremen simply couldn't contain the waves of attacking intent.

In a game Popp and Pajor should have scored 4 or 5 each, it would only be Blomqvist who'd end the game as the player taking the match ball home with a late sub 15 min hattrick...o_O

All season I've not been able to understand Stroot's unwillingness to rotate his squad players better, and today was more evidence of this being the key error that might have lost Wolfsburg the title this season, as Wolfsburg's bench would demonstrate today the quality we all know they posses, but rarely get to see.

One of these underused squad players being Demann, who was particularly excellent as the DM/Pivot replacement for Oberdorf, allowing Popp and an early substitute Huth, to have all the freedom to remain constant threats as AM's within a genuine 4-3-3 formation.

The movement and build up play between Huth, Demann, Popp, surprisingly appearing like they'd always played together as a CM trio, only bettered by Brand, Pajor, Waßmuth, all combining as a genuine front 3 constantly demoralizing a typically defensively stubborn Bremen with their speed and skill.

We even saw this improved balance between players have Popp and Pajor assisting each other....o_O

Wilms would still showcase why the RB position remains a problem for Wolfsburg this season, but would look more comfortable playing centrally as a CB for the closing stages of the game...; potentially highlighting why this match not the best moment to seriously assess what took place lol.

But it was still good to see Wolfsburg playing with far less aimless long balls to Pajor, where making intelligent off ball movement a factor again, for a group of players we know more comfortable within a high energy pressing/transition based style of play.

As I've speculated for a while, Pajor continues to have ZERO connection with Roord, Huth, Popp, or SJJ. And today seeing her appear so much better connecting with Waßmuth, Brand, and even Blomqvist, must make Stroot finally wonder if he's been looking at his team balance all wrong...:cautious:

If they hadn't lost against both Bremen and Duisburg last month, Potsdam would be above both Duisburg and Meppen right now and no longer bottom of the table

what’s Turbine currently doing right for their sudden turnaround? This club started the season with a roster of 35, and added even more like the two Canadians as well as other foreigners I’ve never heard. Yet some of their bigger or promising names have all disappeared(Schwalm, Platner, Lange & whatever the Japanese girl’s name was). But nice to see Jeni Cramer in the lineup—-though she made the 2015 WC squad, she’ll always be remembered as the one that Neid forget to (fist) high five, lol.

Wonder what happens to the popular Turbine 2 if the main squad gets demoted?

Lohmann; maybe bad translation, but I read something that future WOB Gk Lisa Schmitz got suspended for 7 games at her current club Montpellier. If true, do you know why?

8-0 was WOB’s high scoring win of the season, and that’s with giving Oberdorf & Hegering off and starting Brand, Demann & Wassmuth. This is what I’ve been trying to tell you) whatever 11 subs, they still make up arguably the 2nd best team in the Bundesliga.
What’s annoying it’s the rotation only comes against weaker opponents/Stroot has shown simply no faith in his subs in the bigger games as shown vs PSG where he gave SJJ 89 minutes vs Brand just 1 min.
I know you’ve said Brand’s still an work in progress, but nevertheless she broke the record as fastest to score an goal for NT debutant as a well was invaluable for HOF’s progress through the early stages of their CL campaign in late 2021.
She’s so much more of an intelligent, fun & exciting player than SJJ, whose only advantage is her speed. So definitely an bummer, since Brand’s got to wait her turn, even though she’s only one year younger than SJJ. Now forced into the CAM, where she might have to battle Hagel for the starting position.
2 years ago, I really felt like she had the potential to be Germany’s best player ever, but now we got to wait & see

Turbine II will automatically be relegated if the first team gets relegated from 1.Bundesliga but Turbine II are themselves 14 points behind a non-relegation place.so they will likely play Regionalliga next season anyway.

The seven games suspension means she will not play anymore for Montpellier. Diani only got a 3 games suspension but she is injured and can`t play anyway.
