I think he's still better than Lasogga, in at least he's coming back to Europe and to a league where he should be somewhat effective based on past history. Shame that he had the season where he got suspended for whatever reason and the end result was that his contract with Napoli was terminated awkwardly and all he got was a move to Saudi Arabia
Holger Badstuber announces the end of his career at age 33. He plans to begin training to become a coach https://www.transfermarkt.de/ex-nat...h-trainer-ausbildung-geplant/view/news/410818
I'm conflicted on if Badstuber deserves to be listed here. Part of me says yes, part of me says no. Won everything at club level. Played 178 matches for Bayern Munich, had couple of XI at both WC10 and was XI at Euro12 aka WC10 was start of the eventual 2014 WC winners group. Didn't make WC14 do to season long injury. feels a career worthy of praise.
Damn, MLS is so shit, Hany Mukhtar is MLS leading scorer at 21 goals and 7 assists in 29 matches not only is he already Nashville all time leading scorer and 30 goals ahead of 2nd. he also could be our 1st ever MLS top scorer. Another league with a German on track to potentially win top scorer in 1st Abroad division.
https://www.mopo.de/sport/hsv/leise...rueckkehr-ex-hsv-profi-schlaegt-anfragen-aus/ Pierre-Michel Lasogga had some inquiries this summer including from the 3.Liga but the offers didn't appeal to him so he remains a free agent. He doesn't seem to be too concerned about getting on the pitch and is reportedly considering life after playing football as possibly getting into coaching -------- Other notable free agents are Marc Stendera and Moritz Leitner, who could both be at the end of getting opportunities to continue their playing careers
Max Meyer scored brace today his 1st goals in any league since January 19, 2019......WTF, almost 3 years.......
Max Meyer with another goal today as Luzern tied 1-1 with the current 2nd place club in Swiss league, Servette FC
following last season winning Austria and Belgian top scorers. this season, time for a 3rd league in MLS. my memory is fuzzy who was bigger waste potential wise Lars Ricken or Sebastian Deisler both destroyed by injury.
Nah, Deisler first of all had mental issues. The shitstorm by Hertha fans after they learned that Sebastian gut 10 Million,,€ cash for signing for Bayern München was the final nail in the coffin. Such a talent but that isn't enough. You need the body to play professional sports and the mental health to be a media person in good and especially in bad times. Imo most talents with mental issues get sorted out really early but Sebastian's talent just was too big. I really hope the guy found his peace.
23 goals. 11 assists.Hany Mukhtar balled out to win MVP. 🫡 pic.twitter.com/rgX7ny9HMQ— Major League Soccer (@MLS) November 1, 2022 win for DFB??? MLS is a garbage league and majority of his goals were just PKs and tap ins. and who had him to be traded as hot candidate??? based on what? Scoring in a league lower than 2BL???? Until recently, Mukhtar was also traded as a hot candidate for Hansi Flick's (57) German World Cup squad because of his accuracy. According to BILD information, the national coach did not even put him on his provisional list of 55 for the winter tournament in Qatar. Mukhtar recently said that he would even “run to Qatar for the DFB chance. I think you can add someone who has had an outstanding season, even if it's just MLS." Adviser Florian Goll (41) when asked by BILD: “Of course we would have been happy to see Hany in the national team jersey again, after all he also wore it for years in the DFB youth teams. As MVP and top scorer for Nashville, he definitely provided a lot of arguments and, in my opinion, would have been a win for the DFB with his offensive qualities. I hope that Hany's historic title will finally give the still underestimated MLS even more impetus in Germany." In 2014, Mukhtar shot the German U19 national team to the European Championship title with his goal in the final against Portugal - in a team with the current DFB stars Joshua Kimmich (27) and Julian Brandt (26). https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/...usa-ein-historischer-erfol-81795188.bild.html
Davie Selke would score 50 goals in MLS Seriously though, good for him but if he wants any chance of DFB call up he needs to do something in a better league. Even then there is a ton of competition and some high quality talents coming up.
For the first time in ages it looks like Max Meyer isn't so terrible again. Has 10 goals and 3 assists in 22 games among all competition for FC Luzern in the Swiss league Luzern are currently 5th in the league and 1 point behind St. Gallen for a Conference league playoff spot
Looks like David Nieland could be done. He was released by Stuttgarter Kickers in the Oberliga in January Tobias Warschewski also remains clubless after leaving the CPL in December 2022
