Pretty intense winter in the Western US too, but badly needed. Ski resorts in Utah are at or above all-time snow totals this year. I can probably count on my hands the amount of clear sky low wind days from December to now. But Northeast US winter was really mild.
Last fall I mentioned that the Russians had started deploying the 1950's KS-19 anti-aircraft gun as an artillery piece. By their nature, anti-aircraft guns of the era used a lot of ammunition, so there must have been acres of shells manufactured and stored in the large Soviet Cold War bunkers. Well, some of those bunkers were in Ukraine. And shell hunger is affecting both sides. So Ukraine has brought out their own KS-19s from whatever yard or museum they were stored in and they were recently spotted in action.
Trying to game out how Ukraine would've gone if Trump was still president. "Zelensky is a THUG. While Putin, who I got along with very well by the way, is a very smart guy, OK. Don't forget & not many people know this...but Ukraine was once part of Russia. So it makes perfect sense that they want to get it back" my goodness, I totally missed Trump a few days ago telling Hannity that "ultimately, [Putin] will take over all of Ukraine" pic.twitter.com/sqOUFpJnAL— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) April 2, 2023
We are seeing all sorts of old and modern weaponry in use in this war, because we have seen nothing like this since WW2, even if it's still confined to Ukraine only. According to Putin himself, Russia is to modernize over 1,600 old tanks over the next 3 years, while Lockheed Martin have said that they are going to produce 12,000 Javelins in the next three years. Swedish manufacturer Saab on the other hand expects to generate 400,000 units, including Carl Gustaf, AT4 and NLAW anti-tank weaponry and ammo a year, or 1.2 million units over the next 3 years. So we all know where this is heading.
January 21, 2025 after Tr*mp scrapes out an electoral college win, despite losing the popular vote by 15,000,000 votes. Scariest sentence I have ever typed
I don’t even know what happens if he gets convicted in NY or GA…and wins the nomination. I don’t even want to think about that. But don’t worry…the Republican establishment and willing press….and some posters here…will remind us over and over and over that he is innocent until proven guilty and will use this fact as an excuse to vote for him.
It's the wrong thread for this ,but that's not how it will go. There will be increased civil insurrection by the right, acting on behalf of the largely racist ,capital slurping and sexist center, who don't want to get their hands dirty. The crackdown will not be led by Trump but by bipartisan agreement, with extremists on both sides being suppressed.
So, I think by now it’s safe to say that Russia's winter offensive failed: it failed to reach even the most minimal of goals, never mind their stated objectives of controlling the areas that they claim to have annexed in Donetsk and Lugansk.
A source tells Russian state news agency RIA Novosti that military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky (real name Maxim Fomin) has been killed by a blast in a cafe in St Petersburg where he was giving a talk He previously said Ukrainians were mentally ill Russians https://t.co/vr1fYWFxvu pic.twitter.com/oN0Gv0TCHS— Francis Scarr (@francis_scarr) April 2, 2023
95% of Trump supporters would probably want it returned to Russia if Mango makes the deal. And that's probably a low-ball percentage.
That point of view was also expressed eloquently by some in here - albeit it was rejected by a majority of posters.
Musk banned Benjamin Wittes from twitter - Wittes has been lighting up the Russian embassy and spoofed their account Also we found out the Algo downranks the war. We live in a weird time. I mean, imagine someone tweeting out video of the meeting where the Nazis tried to blow up Hitler. A video showing Tatarsky receiving some little figurine before the blast. Telegram channels speculate that the bomb was hidden inside this item. pic.twitter.com/t66Dn6JwP8— Kevin Rothrock (@KevinRothrock) April 2, 2023
Another perspective In St. Petersburg, Russia, an explosion has just occurred in a cafe where Vladlen Tatarsky - one of the most known Russian military propagandist - was holding a "creative evening". It is reported that Vladlen Tatarsky was killed by the explosion. pic.twitter.com/CjDyHGwiKa— Saint Javelin (@saintjavelin) April 2, 2023
