Le rout, c'est moi. US 5:0 Grenada --Our biggest win ever v Grenada (previous best was a 4-0 rout in 2009 GC) --Second time we routed Grenada --Jesus scored a rout by his damn self --First rout since beating Panama 5-1 in WCQ --First rout by five goals since 7/15/21 (US 6-1 Martinique)
Annoying that the US Soccer highlights are less than 4 minutes... NBC Sports Spanish language gets a whopping 13 minutes!
Dang I am slow on the draw in my old age. But twas a delight to see our first (and hopefully not last) rout of 2023. This was also our biggest away win in USMNT history, or at least tied with beating St Vincent & the Grenadines away 6-0 in 2016. Also the first time we've ever been in a game with a 7-1 scoreline, making it a scorigami as well. Could this portend a second rout at home to El Salvador? We've routed the Sallies many times, at least in the US. I'm feeling good about it.
You liked 6-0 v SKN, you gotta love 6-0 v TNT. Jesus continues to torment the Caribbean like a category five hurricane. Since Couva, we've played TNT 3x. Three routs, two 6-0 and one 7-0. Three games, three wins, 19 goals for, none against. That's a high goal diff but someone else can do the math. Nothing will make up for that loss, which I'll take to my grave as the darkest day in my sports fan history, but since then we've really made a statement v the Soca Warriors.
