I hope Penso throws out some of their guys. She usually calls a pretty tight ship.

As long as it's gender-neutral, I don't care. But I've heard too many coaches try to make boys feel bad by comparing them to girls. No wonder little boys grow up thinking we're somehow lesser. I have experienced a steady dose of these kinds of microaggressions throughout my life, and it's painful to see girls/women still being put down in this way.

(My mom tried to compliment my daughter by saying "you drive like a boy!" My daughter, who is a good driver, was not happy but, you know, my mom is even older than I am so we let it go.)

Tonight’s undershirt, dredged from the bottom of a Quakes t-shirt shelf. :)

I was at that game, but, don't remember a shirt. Was it one of those, "free to the first 10 people through the gate" promotions by the Quakes?:)

Chris Penso is Tori’s husband, not her brother.
And yes, she is better than him, but I consider him one of the worst MLS refs.

Kari Seitz once did an FC Gold pride game at Buck Shaw, which I charted in order to practice my ref assessments. She was amazing. There was a referee post-game thing afterward, where I asked her why she wasn’t refereeing in MLS. She said “they never asked me.” I think she said she was doing all other levels of men’s games at the time.

she used to give great talks to the SJSRA group and was our star. Now our star is Joe Dickerson, who just got his fifa badge.

The worst ref is Geiger, and Frotos Barackos or w/e his name is. WORST ever. Back in the day Gus St. Silva and Michael Kennedy were pretty bad too

Well, I always liked Geiger, but I agree 110% on Fotis Bazackos. In our game last week, he was making a lot of calls from 30+ yds away.

I wasn’t that referee-knowledgeable when the last 2 guys you mentioned were working.

Best refs I've seen, Alex Prus, Paul Tambrino, Brian Hall and the unfavorable Ricardo Salazar. I also like Ian Anderson, Sandy Hunt, Tori Penso, and Ishmale Elfaf

I guess it's how you look at it.

Growing up, my older sister could throw, hit and swim better than me until I was in my teens. She could also kick my ass - her nick name was Cassius. My little sister was a mult-time All American @ Cal, a German national champion and capped with the USWNT.

    They played like girls.

Here’s a blast from the past: Richard Heron. I got hit by a shoe escorting him up the tunnel at Spartan Stadium.

Heron was a good one, so was Abbey Okalawaja (Sp?) and Esse Barharmest.

Yes indeed! Same year at an open cup game at Negoesco Stadium between the Clash and Galaxy I had to literally fight my way back to the locker room with three of the four refs behind me after it ended in kicks from the mark and a save by Cannon was retaken. Scott Weyland managed to find his own way back. IIRC Michael Kennedy was the CR. I knocked a few people down with the electronic sub board and took a few punches.

Fk! No bibimbap tonight! We are so disappointed.

and the speaker system is even louder tonight. I guess they are trying to look good for Apple TV tonight because we are the free game.
