Nah, that's not why. And I don't hate St.Louis. "Hate" is one of the four most overused words in the language, along with "Love", "Always" and "Never" (and f*#k). I reserve the use of "Hate" for things truly worthy of it. St. Louis is not worthy of my hate, but I can sure find them to be contemptible, misguided, and delusional, among other things. Their clueless and misguided about their pizza, their beer sucks, their Worlds Fair was so lame that it is damn near unknown beyond its city limits, they need levees to be able to walk around, Nelly is the cities musical highlight, and don't get me started on how architecturally challenged they are. (Although I give 'em some points for annoying the hell out of Cubs fans.)
tbf, the Worlds Fair is only memorable for being incredibly racist and possibly consisting of crimes against humanity. A good Jon Bois video came out of it tho.
Seeing as how we usually get rocked by expansion teams (the earliest I can remember is TFC's doofus fans throwing their seat cushions on the field in 2007 to celebrate a hat trick against us but it extends even to most of the newer expansion clubs) and we've beaten CITY (lol) twice this week, I wouldn't be upset if MLS put the next 10 expansion teams within the borders of that city, which is basically a living monument to this country's historical (and still prevelant- just look at the Twitter account @bestfansstlouis for some prime examples) racism. I was upset when CITY (OMGLOLOLOL) started off really hot, but I'm glad they did so we watch them fold just as fast. I don't even dislike the city, there's some good food to be had if you stay away from the stuff they call pizza and I've had some good times there, but it's the people that suck, and always have. I hope we play CITY (LMFAO) in Leagues' Cup too just to get another dub against them this year.
