My most hated team - I'd love to keep them down in the conference standings.

No Blessing for at least one more week, Borrero likely out but if he plays at all, expect limited minutes.

NYC are still finding themselves at the moment. Their midfield is just as strong as it ever was, but their attack is a mess. Santi and Pereira can cook, but Magno isnt a striker and their other winger spot remains an audition. Tack on that their defense isnt quite the same without Callens and Matt Freese isnt quite Sean Johnson and i dont expect this game to be as hot of a contest as it has been in some prior years

This Saturday's pairing is Callum Williams and Jamie Watson.

What's nice about this year's team is that the Revs have some depth. The Revs can go 2 deep in most positions without giving up too much. Yes, I know some people don't rate the starters very highly, but I think most of them are decent MLS players. I'm especially happy that BA has actually played the kids. They look like they could have a bright future.

the only spots we dont have a quality backup are GK, FB, and DM. Thats not to say Edwards is bad, hes just nowhere near Petro. Theres no one behind Polster (Maciel is injured and bad, Makoun is worse). Spaulding is a backup, but hes clearly a step below our other FB, and there are no other FB on the roster.

People might think I forgot CAM on this list, and I get it Carles was MVP not so long ago. But Esmir looked like he could at least do a passable impression, and thats before exploring non CAM formations (442 as an example)

For better or for worse, I think Farrell is now the backup at all 4 spots on the back line.

Not sure why Borrero would be on limited minutes, unless he picked up a knock or was delayed in getting back.

Given that and Blessing being out, it looks like Panayotou and Buck will get another start.

Will be interesting to see how long Arena thinks Gil can/should go - and if it's 45 or less, then he may bring him on in the 2nd half like last week - giving Esmir another shot.

I think Vrioni should get a shot to start, but Arena seems to favor Wood at this point.

On Borrero Bruce said its travel related. Based on his 2002 WC experience in SK/Japan he expects some serious disorienting jet lag

It does make sense. They played their friendly in Japan on Tuesday

It works well to switch back and forth from Apple announcers to Brad/Charlie. Also of note, you can always go back and re-watch with the Apple announcers but you can't switch to the home team call on the replay.

Looks like it should be 60ish for the game - pretty ideal weather for an evening game this time of year.

Yeah, I'm a little worried about those. Lightning delays suck.

As of now, my weather app says rain morning into the early afternoon and a bit during the tailgate. But should be OK during the game. We shall see. Of course, those apps are correct about as often as Mike Burns was.

Borrero didn't play against Japan, so at least he doesn't have match knocks/fatigue to deal with in addition to the jetlag. I feel like if they flew back on Wednesday that Thursday, today and tomorrow is enough time to shake the jetlag...but guessing Bruce will stick with the DC lineup (outside of adding Gil as a starter.

Start Panayotou, with Borrero subbing in at some point in the 2nd half.

Ah, thanks! Forza Football didn't have him listed as a used sub. Their accuracy isn't always the best.

Watching the game with the local radio audio feed. So far so good.

Tried to click on audio icon @ lower R. of AppleTV+ screen to go to local audio & AppleTV+ screen prohibits cursor to move to the icon to make that change. Anyone else experience this? ComCast is cable feed provider.

Revs gone slow, lazy & dull this 2nd half ~ countless giveaways. Legit NYCFC own goal nullified for bogus call ~ keeper’s view blocked ?!?!? the deflected ball was 15’ over defenders’ heads! Couldn’t see?!?!? Emma gets clothes-lined and no call…. very poor MLS quality.
