Cama is slightly better with ball at his feet, Tchou is slightly better passer IMHO. That through ball to Mbapay was dope!
Carlo's done him a mis-service in recent matches, but I like this kid's attitude and desire to play. He's going to be a winner, no two ways about it.
In what way? since the world cup he has not been at his best, so he's had to rotate, he's got the quality to be consistent but he hasn't been , he will get there but we shouldn't play him just because, others aren't allowed this treatment, his time will come when he get's it all together, even in his own comments he knows what is required.
Have to disagree here. "He has not been at his best, so he's had to rotate." Since the World Cup, he has been given 2 starts in La Liga, none in the Champions League, and 2 in the Club World Cup. Meanwhile Kroos has been given 17 starts. Modric has been given 16 starts. Fede has been given 20 starts. Have any of these guys been at their best? Have they had to rotate for not being at their best? "Others aren't allowed this treament." Actually, I think they are. I believe the starting opportunities says as much. These guys have been playing nonstop despite being in piss poor form. Granted, he did go through some niggling injuries, but I don't think he's been given a fair opportunity to contribute when he has been available. However, I'm not worried. I expect and hope he will be given more of a load right now, because the others really don't deserve it.
Not speaking about Tchou's case specifically, but there's a trend going to back to Zidane's second stint of playing younger players and new signings a lot in the first few months of the season and then its all about the old guard after that. Carlo is the same. All about trusting the guys who won you everything.
Strongly disagree. Tchou's not played in matches where clearly he would've been the better option to start. In particularly, he could've played in the deep lying position as the DMC, providing the legs for Modric to push up further in attack and contribute to our impotent attack. Kroos was also overplayed, to the point it became clear that he was exhausted and could no longer provide any two way presence. It's not as if the other midfield options, other than Cama, who was often at LB anyway, have been any good either. And Fede has been on a free-pass for a long time now.
The part that sucks is that I love these dudes, they are classy, and they definitely can help us win titles. But both ZZ and Carlo just over rely on them.
More like their personal relationship/ dressing room politics gets in the way whats best for the team.
I'm not worried about any of our young players, unless there's a surprise incoming, most have shown what the projection for their career can approximately be.
Agreed Correct, none of them have been decent on a consistent basis, all up and down, with that in mind i don't see anyone as a "better option" for any particular game, we just don't know which version of the player will show up, so Carlo went with the tried and tested. I've said it many times i'll say it again, he has to balance giving players opportunities with having to always win, and he makes his choices, none of us may agree but i can see why he does what he does, even before the season started the perception was that as long as we started the younger players we'll be fine, a new era, we've seen it, that has not necessarily been the case so far although with the quality they all possess i am confident that will be the case eventually. For me a mixture of the two is best but like everyone else i'd like to see less of Toni and Luka starting games, on another note, Toni has been more good than bad so there's no need to single him out, as noted, and i agree, no player has put their hand up this season as far as the midfield is concerned, none of them has been consistently at a high level, the closest player to that...... Camma, and he's been playing all over the park regularly.

🤔 Roncero duda de Tchouaméni🇫🇷 ¿Tú cómo crees que lo hará hoy el francés? pic.twitter.com/nkdoIQXTb7— Diario AS (@diarioas) April 22, 2023
Roncero is extremely passionate about Real Madrid, but he doesn't really know much about football, he's just a loud hot take guy with a bias so blatant that he's famous for it. He's there for comic relief.
Saying you doubt Tchouameni as a sports journalist/pundit right now is really like saying nothing. So just say nothing then, because its too early to pass judgements. We know he was too expensive but under a different coach he may yet become a great player.
Tchouaméni has been getting linked to transfer rumors in smaller Spanish publications lately with the same sentiment (that the club isn't convinced). I don't know what kind of sense that would make, anybody we'd bring in would most likely either cost a fortune and/or be similarly unproven.
Not sure which specific smaller publications you’re referring to, and their journalistic reach and credibility, but from what I’ve seen, there were the same articles being published about Camavinga, at the start of the season. For whatever that was worth.
