Struggles don't have sessions, dave. They're all day, every day, every week, month, year, until they lower my tired, bloody corpse into the Earth and say, "he fought well"

You don't know anything about that life, son, and you'd best be glad you don't. Go back to the frathouse and tell your pals they can't kill all of us.

I’d say that she misspoke…but that was a tweet. Stupid…but…like every other defendant…Bragg will have to prove this beyond a reasonable doubt. Which he will.

My greatest fear is that Cheeto will croak before ever spending a day in prison.

Yes, leaving aside the legal aspects, about which my knowledge is negligible, I think commenting on it is pretty daft anyway. If she's also got the legal bit wrong as well by saying Trump has to 'prove his innocence', that makes it worse.

Ukraine being crushed and turned into a Putin satellite
DeSantos / MTG ticket winning at anytime.

I guess we live in different fear universes. :)

It's a difficult one to handle but, now something's underway this is the better approach IMO. From the grauniad's coverage...

    49m ago15.28 BST

Joe Biden found out about Donald Trump’s indictment through media reports that were relayed to him by his chief of staff Jeff Zients, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters aboard Air Force One.

The president “was not given a heads-up,” Jean-Pierre said during the president’s flight to visit tornado-ravaged areas of Mississippi.

She otherwise dodged most questions about the indictment, mirroring Biden’s refusal to comment about it earlier in the day.

There's very little to be gained, politically.

What's strange to me is why the Feds themselves did not indict this case, given they built some a strong case in the first place, and Cohen plead to it.

Can someone explain why The Perfect Call would take this long? He was on tape & his intentions were made clear. We know who the main witnesses against him would be.

Trump is going to throw soo many people under the bus. It's going to be a bumpy couple of months. Does anyone want to take bets on which family member(s) he will try and sacrifice?

Bill Barr shut down the federal investigation into this matter as soon as he became AG.
Andrew Weisman (who was on the Mueller investigation as a special manager) was discussing this on tv last night.

I would not be surprised if federal campaign finance charges do follow this indictment at some point, if they are needed (and I think they are).

I'm almost willing to endure Trumpian conservatism for another decade if it'll convince the world that America isn't anything special. Of if the world starts treating America the way we all once treated South Africa.

    Almost.

Well, that's something I don't understand as well. He's been out of power now for almost two years now and this all relates to stuff he did during and before his period of power.

is this and example of a performative post or is it one of catastrophizing?

or (please, please let it be) a combination of both?

IF! He gets in in 24 he will run rampant. He has a lot to be vengeful for and a lot planned for the prez for life idea.
He will proclaim himself Fuhrer and align with Putin in a Hitler Mussolini pact. The power of the press will be controlled at the White House. The police will be a combination of Stasi and SS.

You’ll see a lot more of this Nation wide.

    No I’m not joking.

"The Gestapo had 40,000 officials watching a country of 80 million, while the Stasi employed 102,000 to control only 17 million.

You've listened to the same legal podcasts I have---probably more. It's a combination of the Barr DOJ doing everything it could to stymie investigations of TFG and Garland's tortoise-like pace coupled with his reluctance to do anything that can seem even remotely political.

Addendum: I see @xtomx already said much of this.

    This.

And the fact that fir Garland to override the former AG’s corrupt decision would require the DOJ to admit the former AG was corrupt. Garland can’t put that black mark on the DOJ he feels it’s his job to protect.

I debated heading into the city today to mock Trump supporters. Decided to play golf instead. Played lights out so good decision
