    18 March @ Oostende
1:15 pm EST not on ESPN +

As normal, Reynolds should start. Three weeks ago Oostende was dead in the water. With 4 points in the last two weeks, they have a chance. The trip to the beach should net 3 points for Westerlo and keep their slim hopes of Playoff 1 alive.

This guy looked so raw at Roma but he had some banging athleticism. What a great move for him to refine his game.

Match ended 1-2 for a Westerlo win. Oostende had 12 shots on target to Westerlo's two. Winning goal was scored in the 92nd min.

He played the entire match. @Jazzy Altidore I agree, playing time is so important for young players to develop.

    Interesting article here.

"You always want to play for the team that invested all this money in you. If I stay here, I'd just be developing more and more. If I go back to Roma, of course, I just want to focus on continuing to play because once I start playing, like that's when I show my real qualities. Once I have that confidence, I don't want to get back into a situation where I'm just getting rotated in or I'm not playing. I know I have the quality to play there but some things you can't control. You have to get games to get better and to fit into that league. And to play once every five games for 20 minutes. I don't think that really going to do me any good. I think the main thing is just me finding a situation where I continue to play and develop.”

For now, Reynolds is happy. His club is overachieving and Reynolds says Westerlo has one of the best lock rooms he’s ever been part of with all the players playing for each other. A climb inside the top four is within reach and Reynolds continues to make big strides in his game. The club would love to have Reynolds for another season although it remains to be seen if they can make it happen with their resources.

It sounds like he would be OK staying at Westerlo, but would also be fine moving to another club.

It will be an interesting summer for Bryan. I’m looking forward to following developments. I’d be lying if I didn’t hope he pushed on to a bigger opportunity then Westerlo. I enjoyed those Championship links earlier this season.

It also seems that he learned a lot about the importance of being valued and having good opportunities for playing time. I imagine he will not be seeking out a big name club that views him as a backup/prospect with his next move.

Full Oostende vs Westerlo highlights are now available here. They start at 17:47. As good as the cross from Reynolds is, his run to get in that position is impressive as well.

I miss getting to watch those crosses in person. They were very Beckhamesque.

USMNT right back Bryan Reynolds is now eligible for a UK work permit, I'm told.

Reynolds, 21, will leave AS Roma this summer.

A number of English clubs had been waiting to see if he'd become work permit eligible. Clubs in Belgium, Netherlands & more already hopeful to sign him.

I like Reynolds a lot, and think he might be a better fit for us than Dest long-term. Excited to see where he lands next.

Reynolds has done a great job to revive his fortunes in Belgium. I'm really excited to see what happens this summer. I liked those Watford links. A good Championship side and 46 games a season at his age seems like a good spot IMO. Not too big of a move.. just right.

I think the UK Work Permit is the real sign that his time at Westerlo is coming to a close.

I think that was always going to be the case. I imagine they'd like to keep him but it's unlikely they can afford to do so.

Interesting article about potential locations for Reynolds:
Point 1 - 7 million Euro purchase clause for Westerlo
Point 2 - Watford, Sparta Prague, Genk and Swansea have expressed interest

If the options in your Point 2 ended up being the only ones available then I'd most like to see him at Genk. They'll be playing CL next season and are the highest quality club (at the moment anyway) in that list. A good few years there and then move on if warranted by his play. But it would probably be Watford (or Swansea) because they'll have way more money and...England. The Championship wouldn't be a bad fit for him, I don't think, but I tire of watching our guys there. It's fast, physical and demanding (mentally, as well) and they get good exposure to EPL clubs, but it's just pretty piss-poor soccer far more often than it's good.
