I would bet a large sum of money that we have talked to him or an intermediary of his. We talk to an enormous range of duals on a regular basis, clearly. Doesn’t mean we’ve sewn it up — personally would’ve liked us to speculatively call him up over Johnny this window given Tyler was out. I don’t really rate Johnny long term over Richardson.

I don't know why people assume we aren't talking to these dual nationals. We always find out that there was a lot of chatter behind the scenes. I'm sure its not as easy with Richardson, as he doesn't speak English. But anyway...................

We were a little out of the woods on Ben Cremanschi due to Argentina failing to qualify for the U20WC. But now they've been announced as the new host. So revive #dualnationalpanic. He hasn't actually earned a place with either group, but we'll see.

How about Marlon Fossey, the Standard Liege fullback. Provisionally cap-tied to US, but must still technically be eligible for England? I guess?

Isn't it true that Gabriel Slonina isn't technically cap-tied yet? He's made it plain that he's committed to us, but isn't cap-tied.

Here are some others that are part of the U20 team:

I was trying to think if Owen and Tyler Wolff have access to another passport thru their mother. I think they do, but forget which one. I'm going out on a limb. Someone can confirm. I think its the Phlippines.

    Dante Sealy, F, Dallas/PSV (T&T)
    Owen Wolff, F, Austin (Philippines)
Tyler Wolff, F, Atlanta (Philippines)-provisionally cap-tied to US
Gabrial Slonina, GK, Chelsea (Poland)-provisionally cap-tied to US
Alex Borto, GK, Fulham (also Poland)-provisionally cap-tied to US
Quinn Sullivan, F, Philadelphia (Germany)-provisionally cap-tied to US
Nico Carrera, GK, Dallas (Mexico)-provisionally cap-tied to US
Mauricio Cuevas, RB, Club Brugge (Mexico)-provisionally cap-tied to US
Markus Ferkranus, CB, Galaxy (Canada)-provisionally cap-tied to US
Diego Luna, F, RSL (Mexico)-provisionally cap-tied to US
Nathan Ordaz, F, LAFC (Mexico/El Salvador)

    There's even more. Basically everybody............

I think what happens when you really study it is that.................its almost everybody. So we can't make call-up decisions on dual-national status. You're picking one dual-national over another dual-national. Yes, there are some you want to be more aggressive with like Balogun. But that's because of their quality first, and their dual-national status second.

That's what I was going to say. It seems like at least, I don't know, 75% of our best prospects are dual nats.

Wasn't there something with Ebobisse's eligibility with Cameroon too?
They tried to call him up in 2021, but it didn't end up that he was eligible?

    I can't remember those details.

I think he was on their provisional list for the African Cup of Nations, but they never actually called him. He’d have to file a switch to play for them.

Unclear how much interest they have in him going forward.

Here's my suggestion - Great idea to make it more organized but comprehensive not so much. That list you supplied already is WAY too long. Need to have some sort of cutoff as to what someone has to accomplish to get on the list.

At least some future expectation that if a player continues to develop that they could actually make the roster. This list seems like just a list of every soccer player who has dual citizenship.

The article while detailed, it did not want to touch his lack of size when playing inside the box when there is no counter opportunities.
Like I stated before, his game is more tailored to the open field in a counter. A style that is not England's style.
Flo's game resembles a lot to Pulisic's, even preferring the left side of the field.

I would say U20 WC participants/pool players and older.

Younger than that and the pool of potential USMNT players just balloons exponentially.

In the case of Amir Richardson it's because in December 2021 he said no one from US Soccer has ever spoken to him? What reporting or other evidence is there that US Soccer has since contacted Richardson? If there isn't any, it seems odd to make some general point ("we talk to a lot of dual nats") and apply it to the specific case of Amir Richardson...

    http://americansoccernow.com/articl...-as-richardson-sees-career-take-off-in-france

Richardson also holds an American passport through his father but has not heard from U.S. Soccer.

December 2021 was quite a long time ago.............................

Note, he only made his first team debut in 2021. So there wasn't much reason to actually call up Amir Richarson prior to that. Certainly not to the senior USMNT.

If there's one aspect of the program I have a lot of faith in, its our contact with dual-nationals behind the scenes. The federation doesn't advertise what they're doing here.

    No. We don't know.

How am I the one making an assumption here??
Citing a statement from a respected journalist, that was part of a published article, based on a direct conversation with the individual in question, is just about the OPPOSITE of "making an assumption"...

I'm making a statement based on the evidence we have, not evidence we... don't have??

I'm fairly certain that Emmanuel Ochoa, Diego Kochen, Alex Borto, Justin Che, Julian Gressel, Erik Duenas, Lennard Maloney, Jonathan Gomez, Christian McFarlane, Amir Richardson, Leon Flach, Bento Estrela, Dante Sealy, Maurice Malone, Federico Oliva, Marcos Zambrano, and Johan Gomez are not provisionally cap tied with anyone. As far as I can tell none have ever played an official match with the US or anyone else. Just friendlies at the youth or senior level.

Great work! Transfermarkt doesn't list it but I remember this (https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/what-is-the-transfer-outlook-for-breakout-mls-young-stars) being posted recently and this text makes me think Wales is also an option for Buck:

"Buck’s UK passport makes him eligible for both the English and Welsh national teams, should either attempt to sway him. He’s been with the US U-19 squad and is age-eligible for the 2025 U-20 World Cup."
