5 of his 11 Liga goals have been penalties. He’s been a non threat in front of goal for most of the season. He’s been turning the ball over and his passing has been woeful. Yeah, he’s been garbage this season when compared to what we need as a CF.

Reports of his demise have been exaggerated. Shows how much an injury can affect a player and our play.

Anyways, we need to manage him and hope he keeps this form for CL matches.

 

Ten years ago, Benzema's first goal would have been on the blooper reels. He always had the technique but in his veteran years he became so much more focused and ruthless. He can stay at an elite level for another two-three years, provided we load manage him instead of running him into the ground.

 

Easy there…. I’m glad to see he looks better and the second goal was pure class. I hope this means we’re getting the old Benz back. But let’s remember we were playing a rubbish team today. If he looks like this against Barca you can definitely tell me to STFU

 

He may not put a similar performance against Barca and that would still not make him a “garbage” striker in any sense.

Like I said before, I am glad he's done with France NT. Even last summer without the World Cup, they had some silly Nations League games and Benzema's series of injuries started from there. We need a competent back up this summer though so he can be rotated next season against smaller teams.

 

This guy has pretty much zero pace, but his agility, balance and body control is the best in the world. And even that pales before his mental game. From that insecure introvert that he was when he came to this ruthless single minded chad. What a transformation.

 

The Benzema time of the year when he suddenly becomes superhuman. March to May
