Man the first half of the final is still the best performance from Argentina i've seen. Like watching prime Barcelona toying with opponent. And it is France, in World Cup final.

    Not just Peckerman.

In 98, Argentina went without Redondo and Cannigia because of a no long hair policy by Passarella.

2006, in addition to Pekerman's horrible subs, how the hell do you not take Zanetti,

2010, Maradona leaves off the Champions league winners, probable best defense in Europe, Argentine players from Inter.

Does any other NT have managers who shoot themselves in the foot as much/often as Argentina?

zanetti with the assist there. Left at home but we had to groom scaloni who had the clown role back then :p

Lol, it was an absolute joke the Scaloni was selected for that squad ahead of Zanetti, but hardly surprising from that loser Pekerhead.

I do not think a single player who has been under Pekerman would call him a loser, particularly our current captain and manager. They all speak highly of him with great admiration. So, yeah, I would stop labeling him that.

He's a loser at managing grown up teams, his record shows that time and time again, he should have stuck to coaching the kids, that was what he was good at. I'll never change my mind on that so leave it at that.

And again, Scaloni’s opinion weighs a bit more than a fan.

Yea, but Scaloni rates Pezzella highly. He's right most of the time but not everytime. Our players respect their managers, even Messi wouldnt criticize Diego or Bauza.

If you check Pekerman statistic , at youth level his winning percentage is somewhere between 65-75%, once he moved to senior level, his winning percentage dropped to 10%-50% . Not coincidence.

That’s fine but calling a man a loser for what he has provided our football is uncalled for. A loser would be hanging onto a position for too long and not taking responsibilities.

Scaloni wore his U20 jersey after victory in Qatar, which was homage to Pekerman.

    That’s all I am saying.

He's a winner at youth level, most successful youth manager of all time and that's it. However, he achieves nothing at senior level. Only "bought" manager or coward would bench Messi, Aimar and Saviola for 120 minutes in WC quarterfinal.

Instead of breaking our trophy drought curse, he ended England penalty curse.

You have a point. Which I don't get. It seems since he would have more faith in them. Especially factoring in that he was most of these players youth coaches. Pekerman usually did trust in his younger talent and better talent. He let Riquelme play at Senior level. He let Tevez and Messi go unhinged in the group statges. He probably was too scared in the knock outs.

Scaloni is a mix of all the good coaches Argentina had. The trust in his youth (Pekerman), the tatical (Bielsa), The winning attitude (Menotti). Also his staff, have that in them as well. Everyone brings bits and pieces, instead of in the past where we just had one piece.

THESE ARE ALL REALLY INTERESTING DISCUSSIONS AND TOPICS. WE SHOULD BE TALKING ABOUT THEM BUT CAN WE "UNPIN" THIS THREAD??:p

I mean, compañeras y compañeros, "Argentina v. France"?? That game is over. Let's act as Argentineans, "We've been here before" so let this thread die.
    :)
If the French see this they could legitimately laugh and say, "come, get over it already"

2002 Bielsa is too stubbon to change his game plan, doesn't use Aimar, Riquelme or Saviola who were beginning their prime. Under utilizes Crespo and overuses Bati-goal who was injured and not as effectiive (injury, age)
