Rodriguez already doing MUCH better than Estrada but… look where you’re going to shoot!!!! Saw the replay and he just shoots without looking at the goal itself lol.

Might be the best game I’ve seen Sornoza play for the NT. Fantastic passing.

All three new starters (Pacho, Sornoza, and Rodriguez) have shined! Fantastic work from them! Big difference compared to the last game (although a very shaky start!).

Just wanted to say that these two friendlies have been a couple of the best friendlies I've seen in this country in a while. Both teams played hard and strong at a very good pace and they both showed desire to win. A game each was a pretty fair result I think. A lot of teams travel here for friendlies and just go through the motions. Ecuador played with skill and pace, and I'm sure that once they get used to the new coach they will settle in to become an even better side. It was a pleasure watching them play.

From our point of view it was a very good hit out for mainly our first team but also some new players with some making their debut. We start world cup qualifiers in November and then have the Asian Cup in January and competitive games like this will help that preparation.

Rodriguez still has a lot of technique to learn this is where its evident that he hasnt had much experience playing 1st division. Small things like looking up to shoot are learned with time. The same can be seen in El Nacional with their players they made mistakes in marking and positioning in defense that cost them their elimination but they danced around another 1st division team. The talent is there.

Im not sure if he will continue to be part of the team it hard to see how he will continue to play out but I am happy to see that he made impressive runs and was dangerous. It like the quality of other players do rub off on him. Our next friendly I hope we call up 4 FW I def dont want to see Estrada any more.

Nice performance against well run Australia,Kevin def looking better than Estrada just like I have said since those 10 min he had back in qualifiers.Defense kicked up a notch from last games awful performance, but they’re still letting attacking players get a chance after a goalies deflections, anyone else thinks that line of 3 is how we should play our D?

I watched some highlights and it seems that Hincapié committed a dumb foul in the area. It also seemed that Australia should had been up by 3 in the first half from what I saw.

I liked a lot of what i saw from this team over the course of these 2 freindles. Considering we had a few notable players out (Porozo, Hurtado, Enner, Plata) and many more who didn't make the cut. I think Sanchez overall had a good call up, did well to estabish a good sense of play, i think he got the best out of these games.

Ramirez dropped the ball on what I'd consider the time to consolidate the 1st choice keeper spot. Was a culprit in both of Australias first 2 goals. I still expect him to get the spot going forward but for now Galindez or Dominguez will most likely start.

I think that the line of 3 is the way to go we have enough CB's to do it. Hincapie and Porozo play in systems that run that, Torres and Pacho would do well. There is still alot to work on, being flat footed on deflections and miscommunication on defence saw Australia get 2-3 goals on us. But it is very key that Pervis and Preciado make the run back on defense. Our mid also need to be in a postion to help Mendez did a game job of that and dropping between CB's. Pervis, Torres, Pacho did well, Hincapie still commiting these small errors and Preciado was decent.

Our midfield was great Caiceo and Mendez definetly gonna be our go to duo. Everything else i think will be situational; Sornoza played well, Sarmiento for the limited minutes was amazing, Plata, Franco, Romario Ibarra, Alvarado great options. Dissapointing performance from Cifu hopefully he picks it up.

As for our forwards very mixed feelings, glad to see that Rodriguez is looking like an attacking threat making multpile good runs and drawing a penalty, but again our defense is that only one scoring. Estrada is not up to standard he should not be called up. I think it would be interesting to see Enner and Rodriguez up top. We need to be testing more people Jordy, Campana are good alternatives.

My ideal XI for next games in September if everyone is healthy

GALINDEZ/RAMIREZ; TORRES, PACHO, HINCAPIE; PRECIADO, CAICEDO, MENDEZ, ESTUPINAN; SORNOZA; RODRIGUEZ, ENNER

I really hope Jordy starts netting goals and that Campana recovers. If we get a microciclo going soon I would call up Justin Cuero, Jose Angulo, Ronnie Carrillo, and JJ Cifuentes that would give up a good Idea of who our back up strikers should be for now.

Refreshing to see the U17 play amazing as opposed to their U20 counterparts. They seem like one of the better squads in the tournament, pending today’s results; one more win should get them into the next round. Obando, Loor and Paez would be amazing players to integrate into the Senior squad when the time is ready. If they keep up this amazing play throughout the tournament (possibly win) I can see then making a deep run in the U17 WC.
