SNY BREAKING: The Mets have announced that they will retire Doc Gooden’s #16 and Darryl Strawberry’s #18 next season!
The New York Mets Movement The club has fired multiple people within its front office across different departments, league sources confirmed to The Athletic on Thursday. The Mets fired pro scouting director Jeff Lebow, farm director Kevin Howard, performance director Jim Cavallini and baseball development director Bryan Hayes. The organization will again enter the offseason looking to hire a president of baseball operations. The shakeup doesn’t necessarily have to be connected to a new leader, but the moves do clear the way for a prospective president of baseball operations to bring in others of their preference.

He spent the past four seasons across town as skipper Aaron Boone’s bench coach with the New York Yankees. https://apnews.com/article/mets-vogelbach-guillorme-stewart-499f75cde6db58ebfc9a36ba3f190927 Designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach and reserve infielder Luis Guillorme were cut Friday by the New York Mets. New York agreed to a $1.38 million, one-year deal with outfielder DJ Stewart, a pleasant surprise last season after he came up from Triple-A Syracuse.
