This year, the New York Mets are bringing Old Timers’ Day back as part of their sixtieth anniversary celebration! The festivities will take on Saturday, August 27, at 4:30PM, prior to the 7:10PM game against the Colorado Rockies. There will be a red carpet event outside of Citi Field as select Mets alumni will enter the stadium at the VIP Seaver Gate, starting at 2:00PM. Yesterday, the Mets, who debuted in 1962, announced the sixty-five players and managers who will be in attendance. They are:

The club has fired multiple people within its front office across different departments, league sources confirmed to The Athletic on Thursday.
The Mets fired pro scouting director Jeff Lebow, farm director Kevin Howard, performance director Jim Cavallini and baseball development director Bryan Hayes.
The organization will again enter the offseason looking to hire a president of baseball operations. The shakeup doesn’t necessarily have to be connected to a new leader, but the moves do clear the way for a prospective president of baseball operations to bring in others of their preference.

Designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach and reserve infielder Luis Guillorme were cut Friday by the New York Mets.
New York agreed to a $1.38 million, one-year deal with outfielder DJ Stewart, a pleasant surprise last season after he came up from Triple-A Syracuse. Like the others, Stewart had been eligible for arbitration this winter.
