If a statement isn't being used to prove truth of the matter asserted, it's not considered hearsay. But here, TFG's statements in the press, etc., etc., are statements of a party opponent and would be admissible for any reason. Now whether some of these surrogates on the various pundit shows would be considered close enough to be agents of the party opponent is a question (probably easily researchable cases on this, I just don't have the time) but, regardless, their statements could be admissible for a lot of different reasons.
Thanks Yoss Now you mention it I remember you have explained this to me before. I remember it came up on the McStay trial where the killer went on one of those true crime mystery shows before the bodies were found and said "i was definitely the last person he [the victim] saw ..." So they played it at his trial. Doh! Joyce Vance thinks this could be evidence of consciousness of guilt because Trump always claimed he never made the Stormy payment but if his attorney now admits he did, it might go to the criminal conspiracy
Someone keep racist grampa off the phone In one of his most unhinged and vile rants ever, Trump attacks Charles Blow, NY Times writer who is black. Here is a sample of what Blow said: “Trump is still exaggerating old accomplishments, re-litigating a lost election &marking enemies for retribution. He’s stuck in a rut.” pic.twitter.com/vqe3Bof9xc— Spiro’s Ghost (@AntiToxicPeople) March 30, 2023
I just don't get how we're supposed to teach children anything when this guy has blown up the idea that if you work hard and learn stuff, you could do anything. We elevated the dumbest person in the country to the presidency. If I was a kid, I would laugh derisively if someone told me to do my homework.
Here is an example of market failure. You'd think if you had a millions of dollars you wouldn't end up with a dumb ass kid.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I genuinely don't think Trump is dumb. It just appears as that because he's a narcissistic sociopath who is also extremely entitled.
He's not dumb on the grand scale. If he was one of your neighbors no matter where you live, he wouldn't stand out for his dumbness. As for US President he does stand out for his dumbness. If there was a dumber President in the 20th and 21st centuries I'd love to see someone explain him.
Hey hey! It was like only $100M, ummkaay? If he had just stuck it in the S&P 30 yrs ago he'd have 2-3X his wealth.
Reagan was intellectually incurious at least and at worst only capable of reading a script (before his dementia started kicking in).
Read that tweet and tell me he's not dumb. He's dumb. There isn't one person who regularly posts on this forum who is anywhere near that dumb. Not even Cascarino.
I did not think he was genuinely dumb until after he began as president. If you actually listen to what he said when discussing the machinations of his job and the work, he really did not understand. He fundamentally failed to understand the basics of government, civics, or law. Also, he only has a bachelor's degree and apparently did not really do well then. He did not write his own book (the greatest book ever written...next to the Bible). From people who worked with his companies, he never really understand how his own companies ran. By mid-2017, I really thought he was dumb.
This guy seemingly had a nice business gig going for him ... then he fuked it all up with his 5 minutes of fame.
There is no bottom, example whatever Not your father's Republican Party, that's for sure.— Eric Butler (@EricButler85233) March 30, 2023
Wut? No love for George W. Bush? Until Trump came along, a lot of folks would rate him as Dumb and Dumber, but maybe not Dumbest now. Then again, he did securify our borders aginst terr-ists.
