And . . .La Liga has now made Gavi officially a youth squad player again.

I think it doesn't affect his playing eligibility right ? Or can he only play limited minutes ? I keep reading the major problem will be signing his contract come summer time with the financial limitations the club will continue to have.

There’s lots of speculation online / forums suggesting that he’s now a free agent and can go anywhere in the summer .. for nothing !!!

We'll see how true that remains when somebody offers him 100m more than Barca can.

Do other top leagues have these youth player rules? Seems like this is a constant problem for Barca but honestly don't know if the same is going on with every club.

Spain is the strictist; it's the reason the English teams make annual sweeps through the Spanish youth academies to sweep up all the promising talent the Spanish senior teams aren't allowed to put on a contract (recall Arsenal snatching Cesc Fabregas away from the cantera).

Not senior number and less wages. Nothing to do with playing minutes though.

Yeah, that needs to change if La Liga is going to remain a top 3 league in Europe, talent-wise. It could be argued it is already 4th.

One thing I don't know about is whether the ease of doing this for the English teams has been affected by Brexit. They're not both under the same EU labor and immigration laws anymore, so maybe it has. I honestly don't know.

So now I understand the $200m shortfall problem coming up in the summer. Apparently in November La Liga changed the rules with regards to the income from the levers the club used last summer. La Liga now says that the income that came from selling rights to future revenue cannot be counted all up front. It has to be split over the years. At least that's how I understand it. Tebas is really trying to screw the club over.

    The thick plottens

[emoji599] Technogym (leader in home gym equipment) received an invoice of €100,000 yesterday in the name of Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccini to install a gym at his home in Barcelona.

Ceferin .... I don't know anything about the case, I am not going to comment directly .. but let me comment directly ....

"The situation is extremely serious," Ceferin said in an interview with Slovenian newspaper Ekipa on Monday when asked about the events surrounding Barca.

"It is so serious that, in my opinion, it is one of the most serious [situations] in football that I have ever seen," he said.

"I cannot comment directly on this for two reasons," Ceferin added. "Firstly, because we have an independent disciplinary committee in charge of this. And secondly, because I have not dealt with this matter in detail."

La Vanguardia have accused La Liga President Tebas of providing false evidence against Barcelona in the 'Negreira case'. Tebas himself denies the information.

    Barca demands his resignation.

RFEF announce that they will sue Tebas for defamation for insinuating that their referees were bought.

Honestly, I double question most of the news that comes out First, it's tough (for me) to follow details from media in Spain. And two, there are other side interests that makes one question everybody's motive. Laporta will obviously defend the institution to the death even if the knows there was some shit going on. Tebas is sour because the club snubbed the CVC deal and is pushing for the ESL (which is also why Cefering will chime in from the UEFA side to put pressure on the club).

[emoji599] Leo Messi believes that Gavi is a “differential footballer” & he has a very high potential, with a lot of talent.

Injury updates, hopefully Christensen (not in tweet) back v. Getafe; FdJ and Pedri hoping for Atleti; Dembele no update / no game return prediction:

That injury free stretch from Dembele was like a mirage in the desert.

    1) I don't think we sell Raphinha at all, nearly all reports are us selling Ansu Fati and/or Ferran Torres, both if we bring in any big name forward;
    2) Xavi wants Dembele to stay and we played our best football when he was healthy; and
    3) let's just wait and see what happens instead of getting angry at rumors about what might or might not happen in terms of sales or signings

The good thing is that I think Dembele's contract was only 2 years. Dembele was going to renew at the end of the season if he put in a good season staying healthy. I doubt the club is thinking about renewal now. They just can't.
