He is worth the money; would really help us in attack and midfield.

I think there are plenty of these opportunities, we're just not looking. I gave a few examples a couple pages back, but there are plenty more. Everton got Onana for 35 million last summer. City got Julian Alvarez for 20 million two summers ago. I could go on and on. Imagine if we jumped on one of those trains instead of praying Mbappe or Bellingham chooses us. Or better said, in addition to praying Mbappe or Bellingham chooses us.

Putting all the eggs in one basket is a bad strategy for everything, not only football. The concept of not buying because of what happened with Jovic is one of the dumbest arguments I have heard on this topic.

It's pretty intriguing that the club spotted Varane and acted quick though. Seems to show that we're not totally blind to talent.

I remember when Leverkusen had a thing for signing Brazilians and let's just say the export pipeline benefitted multiple parties.

That was more than ten years ago, things changed. If anything the Camavinga case might indicate that, but it seems like that was a one off.

Camavinga and Tchouaméni were both prominent, highly touted talents. Not like they were cheap under the radar acquisitions either.

Which is the last under the radar steal we've had?

We haven't had any in the last several years, unless we count Ceballos.

Still I'd say Camavinga was bought for a discount price. There were some doubts about his discipline at the time and we decided to take the risk, however the risk was calculated given the price and potential. To me its reminiscent of the Casemiro acquisition.

We should do the same with Doku. His potential is off the charts, and his position is a clear necessity here (unlike CM), which makes his injury issues worth trying to fix by our medical team. I'd try to convince Rennes that buying him for a price which gives them up to 50 percent profit from the fee they paid to Anderlecht for him (25 million) is a sound business decision.

We sure fooled them when we had to buy Case back from Porto to make it seem less like the joke was on us.

We had world class talents in Hakimi and Theo , same was with Odegaard . And all 3 would cover the weakness we have in our squad right now if they fought and we gave them more chance to play...
Remember that Cama wasnt playing too much on the beginning of the season aswell, Tobias dint get any chance , same going on with Arribas , Gutierez not doing good as we expected at Girona...
Fran Garcia next season would mybe work but not expecting anything special.
I mean we will see what will happen on the end of season with trophies , but its obvious this squad requires major overhaul.
I mean i understand that they dont want new Jovic but Jovic dint have mentality for big club and that was seen from first day he came to Madrid with his friends.
Dont understand why we dint push for Cancelo on winter who rly wanted Madrid , was available and would do good for us adleast attacking wise. Same with Porro or M.Gusto we targeted both...
Next, Jude ? what a player, world class talent and mentality and we should do everything we can to sign him ! Diamond midfield with him as playmaker and work off Fede, Cama and Tcho sounds amazing.I hope i will see him duo with Haaland one day in Madrid shirt , best striker in the world right now by a margin...
And yea the biggest issue is how to solve both flanks? U dont have much players to target who are world class...
So Perez should just try to give his best to resign both Hakimi and Theo , both would cost a fortune but if oportunity comes i bet they would push for Madrid for some unfinished biznis...
We can get 40 for Mendy , mybe few for L.V , Asensio , Mariano , Ceballos , Odriozola and Hazard.
Lets say we somehow manage to get 60-70 from sells, with 200m more u get
3 amazing players who just check all boxes for us...
With manager its hard to say who next if Ancelotti gets sack or leaves for Brazil but for me Zidane should be the first name to target, but
giving chance to Raul, Xabi or Nagelsmann dosnt sound bad too...
We know some veterans will continue to play but at the end next few years hope we see something like this : Haaland for Benz

Lol the verdict is still out on tchou? Well yeah considering hes been here like 8 months, in a pretty shitty year. Hes been pretty great if you ask me.

Anyone who says the signing of bale is a bust is wrong. He scored like 3/4 title winning goals, two of them being CL titles. His renewal and not betting on mbappe were rhe mistake. Even with all his crap and the fact that hes directly involved in us not gwtting mbappe, i consider his signing a sucess. James wasnt a sucess but he wasnt a bust, and as much as kaka sucked here, ill always be greatful to flo for putting him in white, letting me see him score a few goals using our shirt, it felt magical. Was my secind favorite player at the time. Mendy allready payed for his transfer with that goalline saving dive vs man city.

True busts since flo came back? Hazard, jovic, odriozola, mariano, kaka (which im sure for all that he sucked he was important to get to put Flo back in the limelight), cant think of many more...

I repeat, i think we havent had an overhaul with this team because we keep wining. I cant imagine we would be sitting on our hands right now if last year we wouldnt have won the CL. Imagine the uproar of RM faithful had we missed on mbapoe then been embarrased in the final vs liverpool. Something would have changed. Now, since we won the CL last year, and la liga was a bigger joke last year than this year, Floretino can easily say: "hey we won the CL and Benzema was balon de or, so we stuck with the same team one more year, only bringing in camavinga because the play had already been made and flo wanted to save face and secure him. He ended up beijg crucial in wining the CL.

Now clearly the league is lost this year but if RM somehow pull off another CL, flo will pretty much just say the same thing, even if only to himself to justify not spending and tring to go for mbappe or haaland in 2024. Even if we loose everything this yeR, flo can excuse himself as a transitory year and buy himself next year to contine being frugile. If he does, most likely nexy ywar we dont win anything, RM fans make themselves heard, and flo steps up and goes big in 2024.

If we win the 2024 cl without reinforcements, i could see flo pushing it back another year. (Basically imposible)

The change is coming, at most in 2024. It has to, Id rather be extremly caucios and wair for rhe perfect oportuinities than spend for the hell of it, especiallt if I still have that last CL vibe still happening.

All this makes sense ans even more when you add covid to context. I think the signings of alaba, rudiger, tchou, and camavinga for a total of 120 million since the failed mbappe signing is veey good buissness.

For the millions of euros (I presume) sunk into our scouting networks I would say overall the program is pretty underwhelming.

I don't understand how the Portos, Benficas, Brightons, Ajax, Monaco etc are unearthing these gems consistently. A club of our stature should be finding these players with more regularity.

James appeared to be the next big thing in Madrid after his first two seasons, and Modric was voted as the worst signing in La Liga after his first season here. Zidane was praised for discovering Mendy. Nobody was happy with TC. The list would go on and on for the performance after the first or even second season. As you said, Tchou has only been here for 8 months. I am not saying that he is a bust or a star, but the verdict is still out.

There is always room to get better, obviously, and finding gems has never been RM buissness, but overall, even if I dont agree with many things the board does, I still believe this second stint from Flo has been the most sucessful in modern sporting history. 5 CLs and like 5 Ligas as well as how many other trophies since he came back? Others should be so lucky.

Yeah but they have all been successful as we have won CLs with them on our team. Same.goes for Alaba And Camavinga. Tchou hasent had rhe chance, but its still a sucess cause we basically said bye to casemiro without leaving a hole in the middle. I truly belive just lkle casemiro, varane and ramos were sold and we got proper replacements, it will be the same for the rest of rbe old guard. All in due time.

The prick needs to make a public statement for his intentions, including an apology for the last time he used the club to win a monster contract from PSG. If I was Florentino I wouldn't even accept calls from him.
