While I agree, we likely won’t be winning the title next season. However, if we end up with Kane and a decent starting 8, is it crazy to consider us title contenders? As we’ve seen this season, City can easily get complacent. Chelsea are still in shambles, Pool are on the decline, Arsenal have massively overachieved this season. While we wouldn’t be considered favorites, I think Kane and a decent 8 puts us in the conversation.

Imo it depends on how much we fix our build up & progression in the first 2 thirds, and how much we can get out of Antony & Sancho next season. I don’t think we’ll try and play the same way we have this season, so I think we’d need to fix more than 8 & CF to make that kind of progress.

What I would say is that we are where we are right now with Ronaldo & Weghorst playing in 18 PL matches between them and getting a sum total of 1 goal. Fred’s got double that in the PL ffs. So I think any young striker coming in has the bar set pretty low for them tbh, as long as they let the players behind them excel as Weghorst does & Ronaldo didn’t.

I watched the Ireland-France game on Monday and I thought Ferguson was excellent in his hold up play against Konate and Upamecano. He's strong for an 18 year old.

You're not worried about Kane's ankles anymore?

I think the concern was valid considering he missed something like 37 games over a 4-year span due to ankle injuries. But seeing as he's on course to play 50 games for his third straight season, I think you have to assume he's over the issue.

On the topic of Kane, Ferguson reminds me a lot of early career Kane. Good finisher, good movement, strong, not that pacey, good at dropping between the lines to get the ball. Really like the look of him.

Said it earlier in this thread, but I think the striker money would be better spend on a combo of Ferguson and Hojlund/Retegui/Sesko vs all on Kane or Osihmen. But I doubt it'll happen.

Dont want Kane, i think im the only one. Better invest on young player and Levy will squeeze as much as he could from us.

Whitwell reporting that ETH is all in on Kane as our priority target this summer but higher ups are weary of dealing with Levy.

While spending big on Kane isn’t my first option, I think he’s the best option available.

    Who goes? AWB or Dalot?

Early on in the season I would have said this is an easy choice. But now it’s almost a wash and Dalot will undoubtedly fetch a higher transfer fee. Still would rather keep Dalot, but it’s close.

IMO Dalot will get better, especially if he goes to a club in Italy. He hesitates more than he should defensively. He needs to be more aggressive. He's too nice.

We must have been keeping tabs on Frimpong since he was at Celtic. What does he offer? Is he a more balanced RB who can do the job at both ends?

nope. Alonso has him excelling hyper offensively. more RWB than RB.

think Dani Alves or Trent. classifying either of them as an RB isn't right

Frimpong is much for of a RWB than our currents options. His offensive output is elite. He’s not great defensively but he’s also not TAA bad either.

    He's 31. Maybe a season-long loan?

he's been average to poor for Bayern.

Cancelo would be a better pick up since he is probably on the way out in the summer as well

Diff league and yeah he is 31 but still lot to offer and proven EPL player plus works his socks off. Not suggesting to bid high for him but if there is discount price or loan move and in worst case scenario Glazers dont sell and ETH have not much to spend he could be an option. Cancelo is no brainer.

No thanks, we had our chance when he left Southampton, no point now. Not even a loan.
