What I'm about to say is obviously speculative, but there is another potential twist Huckabee's ghost writer (John Perry) was a parishoner at that church. He admitted to child sexual assault of a pre-teen girl who attended the school in the early/mid 2000s. No jail time as the statute of limitations ran out prior to the allegations being made. This was allegedly handled "within the church" but there were some additional allegations made regarding abuse of others in that time period. Those allegations seemed to be centered on Perry and church leadership at this church and a sister church in Brentwood, intimidation of church members to keep quiet, etc. Don't know what's true vs. what isn't and admittedly some of the rants of another party that brought suit seem a little deranged. The shooter left the school around 2006-07. Reports indicate shooter told a friend/friends reasons for doing what was about to happen would be known later as the shooter left behind a lot of information. Shooter also reportedly was looking at two different schools/churches. All we're hearing from law enforcement is that there was "resentment". That could be from the shooters parents not accepting gender identity, religious teachings of parents/church/school being in conflict with the shooter's personhood, etc. Her age and school attendance also fits in with the sexual abusee allegations above. Unless the shooter left other "Easter Eggs" of info, I doubt we'll get more than "resentment expressed in the manifesto" from law enforcement.
If it is related at all to sexual assault of young girls at the church? Absolutely. I just find the assumption of parents as the source of he grievance to not make sense in this case. She lives with both of them 5-10 minutes from that church. Clearly someone willing to do this is unstable. But even among unstable mass shooters who live with their family and blame them, SOP is to kill family at home and then flee to a secondary target. That suggests this is an unstable person with a general grievance against the new TN trans laws or someone with an axe to grind with the church/school.
Buddy, you're a church man, gun man Shouting in the street, "Gonna kill all the trans one day" You got egg on your face Big disgrace Losin' your children all over the place...
As you said earlier, though, we can't Just World Fallacy dead children. As I've grown older and become more hardened, I could see myself supporting, or at least shrugging off, an attack on perpetrators. Attacking a school is chickenshit nihilism. I hold out hope that as my generation and the one above me keeps our dates with Hell, future Americans will finally implement sensible arms regulations. I don't have to tell this thread that the GOP/NRA policy is racist hypocrisy.
You need to have better, faster weapons than they do. A bow won't keep you alive. Best you be tried for their murder than them for yours, as likely to be acquitted as not.
For a while last year the parents fell out. She was on the phone yelling every morning to friends about what she was going to get from the divorce. The house was going to be sold to split the equity. We were pretty happy with the thought of new owners. They kissed and made up though.
One of Trumps first action to appease the Repugnants Trump ended rule to block mentally ill from getting guns The action was one of his earliest as president. Ex President Donald Trump has often pointed to mental illness as the underlying cause for mass shootings, but one of his earliest actions as president was to undo a regulation that would have made it more difficult for people with a known mental illness to buy guns. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-ended-rule-block-mentally-ill-guns/story?id=53113891

It's so disturbing how nascent genocidal behaviour is now priced in on the right Eradicate trans. erase gays from schools. open support for an actual genocidal regime. dehumanisation of political opposition as human scum etc
Clearly the solution to a 42% attempted suicide rate is to make their lives even more difficult, dehumanize them more and further isolate them socially. Again, it's obvious what they are trying to do. And yet I was rebuked a few weeks ago in this forum for saying what the logical endpoint of all this is, as expressed in their sacred scriptures and now being increasingly discussed (and even passed) in various countries.
how do you think genocides happen my man? of course they are not inevitable but setting out on the path is not great
Ask yourself the same question. But look at George Rockwell’s Wikipedia page first. Or Harold Covington’s.
More of that needs to happen. And that is somebody who has actually thought about gun violence. And I'm glad he brought up teachers in the classroom. He needs more time. BTW, I'm sure that rep has told MTG to calm down.
There are many examples of when atrocities/genocides/etc. occurred that others didn't think where occurring or even possible. Until well after they had started, or even finished. Don't let this be the same with trans people. The signs are there.
You're saying that the proper response to those who openly advocate genocide is to chill out and wait until they have the support to actually do it, and only then sound the alarm. You may not think you're saying that, but that's the logical consequence of your words. And that seems remarkably naive on your part.
Having grown up in LA (Watts, Rodney King), it wasn't until Boys Don't Cry that I understood the violence which Whites acted out on Blacks could also cross into LGBTQ+ (meaning those afraid of LGBTQ+). At that time, I didn't have the knowledge/understanding of trans people, so associated the killing with gays/lesbians.
I think a lot of people think a "genocide" has to look like the Holocaust, either in scale or intent, or it doesn't count as such.
