Two more Americans in Italy! But I thought Americans didn't know how to playt the game? Sergino Dest and John Brooks find new homes with former European champions by Paul Kennedy @pkedit,
Nice interview with Gazidis, who appears to be on his way out: https://football-italia.net/gazidis-on-rebirth-of-milan-and-why-serie-a-will-soon-be-thriving/
Gazidis out. Furlani in. Sounds like he's been working hands-on for the last few years... https://football-italia.net/who-is-new-milan-ceo-giorgio-furlani/
Milan's problem is the lack of creative players. Milan have a good young defense. The good news is there are several good creative players will be available in June/2023: Roberto Firmino, Cuadrado, Di Maria, Marcos Thuram etc All available for free. And that they would play easily in milan starting line-up. Better than junior messias or origi.
Yes, but they know they're not subject to transfer fees so they ask for commissions, signing bonuses, and inflated wages. Top tier players want top tier wages, and Milan can't compete with the big clubs on that at this point. If we're going to spend "top tier" money, it needs to be spent on a scouting network to identify quality players before they want top tier money.
Let's not forget that our current champions league position should net Milan around 20 million or so. Italy is so corrupt though and the team will probably see a couple of million from it.
His stints at Juve and Inter I think take the gloss off that, but he showed Milan the most fidelity and loyalty I think and did more for them than the others.
Psg?? First big player they got after takeover. Thiago Silva too I guess We've showed him a lot of loyalty paying him millions to be a glorified cheerleader
Yea that PSG move was crazy. I think brought back the attitude we see now that has made you guys contenders on all fronts again.
Maldini was very close to leaving already last summer. Now he’s leaving after a meeting with the ownership. Maldini was clear in his interview with the CBS studio. The team needs investments to compete. Last summer he had agreed deals for Botman & others that weren’t signed.— Siavoush Fallahi (@SiavoushF) June 5, 2023 He gave a very clear interview to GDS last summer where he said a couple of big investments were needed in order to keep competing, Milan spent bad & Origi was a flop, but the market wasn’t what a scudetto winner should’ve done. Maldini calls himself a Guardian of Milanisti.— Siavoush Fallahi (@SiavoushF) June 5, 2023 If he’s leaving it means there’s trouble for Milan coming as I see it. Are there other good sporting directors more fit to the vision of the owners? Maybe. But I’d never want my Milan without Paolo Maldini.— Siavoush Fallahi (@SiavoushF) June 5, 2023
The curva despise Maldini. We do not need to go down that road. Truly embarrassing to see what they did to the greatest Italian player of all time.. I haven't scene anything yet. Gerry was next to Maldini against Verona knowing full well he'd pull the plug.
I'm not sure where the club is heading anymore. We have a decent core, but cardinale doesn't seem eager to get better and invest. Looks like we'll sell to highest bidders... Disappointingbut it is what it is..banter era sucked, now were onto the moneyball phase!
