MLS NEXT Pro: Timbers2 - Earthquakes II (Sunday, 4/2) pre/in/postgame thread [R]

Be more interesting to see who's playing in it . Gonna be hard to play Bouda in Portland, for example, if he's on the bench in San Jose the night before.

 

It's less than two hours by plane and about 40 min by Max to get to the stadium

 

Didn't say it was impossible. But I'm guessing we won't see Bouda in Qii lineup this week.

 

He may or may not play, but it will interesting to see if Bouda couda played.

 

I do wonder if Bouda likes Gouda.

 

Well the other day he asked for provolone on his sandwich, but if he'd have asked, it's clear that Bouda couda and probably shouda had gouda.

 

That's pretty cheesy.

Quakes get a penalty call immediately after the stream started. Lalo Blancas scored.

 

Munie is so good on the ball and as a passer.

 

The stream quality is much better than last year when I gave up on watching these games. Still very low-budget but it seems like they're using a real camera operator instead of that weird wide-angle AI.

 

Plus the stream is also on youtube this year, which makes it easy to watch on a TV set via the Roku gizmo. It looks like there are archived streams of last week's mlsnextpro.com games., but not of the Apple TV games.

 

The game evened out in the 2nd half and Portland unlucky not to score, but P2 is just not all that great and Q2 has beaten them every time with 0 GA. Disappointed Cruz didn't make the trip. Tingey and Munie both looked good. I continue to be unimpressed with Cilley. Chow came in in the 2nd half and well, he doesn't get cheated on his minutes. He's pretty quick and goes for everything. Almost had an assist to Richmond.

The announcer was about as good as you can expect for these games. He seemed to get all the names* and didn't try to over-anayize the play.

* Though he insisted on called Kwende "Wende". Not sure why. I would assume the "k" is not silent. Sounds like "k" except before "w"?

 

Cilley is pronounced Sealy? Gave me PTSD.

 

Oh yeah, that too. It's probably not, but I gave him that one, thinking he didn't want to sound "cilley".

 

Strong start to the season. Ranked second in the entire league with 6 points and a plus 5 goal differential. Two shutouts for De La Cerda.

Not sure what is going on with RSL right now. Their Real Monarchs team has gotten mauled to the tune of minus 8 after 2 games. Their Generation Adidas Cup is nearly as bad for their U-17s. Quakes’ U-17s just beat them 3-0.
