Lol at the panic. We have kroos, modric, hazard, mariano, benzema, carvajal, lucas vasquez, odriozola who I bet wont be with us when 2024-2025 season. Thats 8 new spots on the roster that florentino will have the oportunity to fill with hopefully proper reinforcements. Until rhen its about squieezing every last ouce out of this team and tey and come up with a few titles. If not, i wont be too worried about it. What would worry me is if those missing players arent correctly found and we are left with a depleted 2025-2030 squad. I doubt thats how flo would like to leave things though.

I see there are some Twitter conversation going on regarding the need to have 8 Spanish players registered next year. Something to think about when considering how many and who is sticking around. I reckon you can always fill the 23rd to 25th spots with Youth players to meet the quota.

When we signed Vinicius Ronaldo was still playing for us and Hazard was not even in the frame to be signed. He was brought as a project just like Endrick is.

It’s perfectly possible for us to buy a Benzema replacement and at the same time see how Endrick pans out, just like we bought a Ronaldo replacement and at the same time saw how Vinicius pans out.

I was not excited at all by the Endrick signing but I didn’t see anyone saying he was a swap for Benzema. I’m pretty sure you’re the only one thinking he was signed as a direct replacement for Benzema.

It is possible, but not really likely given what we know about the club's transfer philosophy at this point. And since we're not considering any forward outside of Mbappe and Haaland both of whom seem quite unattainable, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one thinking that.

This is true. I don't think the club has any plans for a star striker in the immediate future.

The plan is Endrick or bust imo.

This is Real Madrid....it's never something "or bust".... Bust isn't something we do here.

What a plan. 36yo striker that'll be completely cooked next season. 18yo 3rd league player and a player who isn't even a ST.

Then for 2024 it's a kid that's struggling now. 2024 where Haaland or Mbappe will probably leave that year or a year later at most.

If we don't care enough to fortify our team why do we threaten managers through the media?

No thanks to Reece James, ditto Bellingham. The English player hype fees we would have to pay on those two players alone would probably in the range of 50-80ME. Then we would have to watch as Zidane picks Lucas Vasquez and Asensio ahead of them.

Again, someone help me understand how we are so reluctant to fortify our team, buy players we could use them leave them on loan... but are quick to sabotage managers, male leaks to media threatening them and fire them without blinking if they are producing trophies yearly?

I've been around. I can agree that we were singleminded in trying to sign Mbappe....other than that I don't think it's a fair characterisation. The midfielders and defenders signed over the past few years were certainly not a "sign or bust" situation. We picked up quite a few players when good opportunities popped up: Alaba, Rudiger, Camavinga, Tchouameni. I don't think we're as rigid as you're saying.....especially for someone like Endrick who's still a kid. There's no way we're planning our entire 9 options by only banking on Endrick.

That was my point if it wasn't clear.

I wonder how long we're going to use Jovic as an excuse?

Doesn't matter because there's always an excuse.

The problem with the passive "sign when good opportunities arise" is that they are few and far between for ready to go players. And often not in the positions the team needs, ergo an unbalanced team.

Latest one is the officiating. Expect the "how can we attract top talent TO THIS PLACE" excuse like Madrid isn't a big part of why "this place" is the way it is.

The truth? We are not good at spending big money on a player. CR7(or Militao) was the last successful player with a price tag of 50 million or above during or after 2009. In total, we only had 7 players in that price range. they are Kaka, James, Jovic, Hazard, Militao, Tchu and Bale. Militao might be the only good buy depending how we saw Bale. Overall, Bale was not bad for two seasons or more. His impact on the team is opened to discussion. The verdict is still out for Tchou. F. Mendy was 48 million. Coentrao at 30 million in 2011 was one of the most expensive defenders ever at he time. As comparison, Modric came the season after with just 5 million more than Coentrao.

But VJ and Rodrygo were 40-something million. We did well over there.

Benzema and Xaboi Alonso were around 30 million. Robben went to Bayern Munich from here for 25 million the same summer. Tevez went to Man City for the same amount. The year before, we sold Robinho to Manchester City for 40 millio euros M.Diarra came in 2007 from Lyon for 25 million. .

Expensive players are not really worth it if we're honest.
