Y’know what I can’t get over? It’s the number of people who approach Lumpy with tears in their eyes or who start crying while talking to him or who leave him crying.

There’s an awful, awful lot of people who can do little more than cry in his presence while asking for a favor (Vladi is that you?) or telling him how he has saved the American world entire. Crying though. It’s what you do In Lumpy’s presence. Apparently.

    A sobbing, wailing, weeping cult.

They’re very good at that, especially when you throw JEEEEE-SUS into the mix.

Another mass shooting today. Typical GOP response. Theologically speaking, this dude's (pictured with his gun toting family) prayers are routinely denounced in Xn and Jewish scripture.

Can anyone imagine how much worse this world would be without Republican thoughts and prayers? We are so incredibly blessed.

I'm just surprised they don't do all this praying and thinking in advance, in a "Senseless Gun Death Prayer Bank" *
    * sponsored by the NRA.

    so much more efficient!

they could just issue the same statement each time "Yeah, too bad, so sad. Wackos, eh - whatcanyoudo? Anyhow we thought about this and prayed already so time to move on. Wanna buy a gun? We have good deals right now! Easy terms!"

No, no, no!! Now is not the time to politicize this.

We are only allowed to send thoughts and prayers to the police, the firefighters, the ambulance crews, the clean up crews, the mayor of Nashville, his aides, his executive assistant, the deputy mayor, general mayoral aides, city aides, the city of Nashville, the governor the state of Tennessee, all state workers, the Lieutenant governor.

Ohh, no need for the victims and their families to be uppity. They can wait their turn because they embarrassed everyone didn’t they? Making the GOP defend themselves like that.

Don’t ever complain to Republicans in the house if your kid gets shot to death. You get beat up, dragged to the floor, handcuffed and called an narcissistic insurrectionist.

Well, frankly - the chair of that committee should be .......

I won't go into exact elaboration on the technical aspects of this matter involving a baseball bat, a rectum and some barbed wire, as I'm sure there is some vague law somewhere that I might be infringing by being any tad more specific in my imaginary ramblings....
Just as I wouldn't state exactly what should really happen to thst fungus brained lout Kyle Rittenhouse.....

I'll just leave it to the wilds of youse lot's imaginations, like.......

Jokes and politics aside, we've got a huge problem set to deal with here. This person was able to purchase a number of guns legally, at least some presumably while they were under medical treatment for a psychological issue. The immediate family was unaware (??!!) of the presence of 7 guns in the home. Apparently a friend received messages about an impending "tragic" action from this person and reported it immediately to the police, perhaps too late for the person to be intercepted and stopped. For sure we need significantly tighter gun controls, but there's a whole lot here that needs to be addressed as well.

2 things (since we're not going to agree on a realistic solution for this mess)...

    1) watch the body cam footage if you've got the stomach for it (not too graphic, but intense). The cops' quick, brave and efficient response was incredible. What I would give for those poor souls in Uvalde to have the same response.

    2) maybe some on the left will cool it with the make believe "trans genocide" narrative that's been thrown around a lot lately. Doesn't help situations like this to tell already mentally ill people that everyone is coming after them when all legislation has been geared towards keeping this horseshit away from kids.

there are mentally disturbed people in every country in the world. the difference in the US is, they can get access to guns very easily.

mental problems aren't easily eradicated. access to guns CAN be. everywhere except the US that is.

I had exactly the same thought as soon as I heard how fast they reacted / acted.

jesus burning. that sounds like something right out of the Repubs scripted responses - completely ignoring the issue of guns being so easily accessed by people with mental issues.

Well, first, in your case - if you mix-up and unnecessarily cross-pollinate legislation (your conception of all being in that sense pretty weird) with say, intent of banning discussion of gender change in school to any pre-13 yr olds (something I would be in favour of - probably one of the few ideas in known history I would likely agree with Ron de Santis about) - with banning Uncle Tom's Cabin, and James Baldwin, etc. Then you obviously get an unworkable mess which will get an avalanche more idiological hostility to its entirity than if my suggestion above were the only issue of a focused legislation, based on what average parents actually generally want.

And you can't talk reasonably to the extremist people - if you were to say, for example, that it was surprising to hear the other day that the Tennessee shooter was a woman (it was very odd to hear that) and then later you hear on the news, oh - a woman - but caveat - one with a man's psychological well of enmity/rage - now that sounds more like the usual. But that wouldn't be fully falling into the goose-step of what the trans-garbage brigade demand you think.....

What would be your solution to this, Sam? Genuinely curious, not asking with a poor attitude.

This photo is idiotic at best and downright irresponsible at worst (?). No matter how fond you are of your firearms, what is this photo trying to convey? Very strange and any politician with half a brain had to know it would come back to bite them eventually.

I can support an American's right to bear arms and still call out Looney Toon behavior like this.
