to count as spanish you don't need spanish citizenship. Only to have trained at least 3 years in a spanish club before age of 21. I think even VJ and Rodrygo may count.
Maybe someone can provide some clarification on the home player rule. Vinicius for example may not qualify as home grown because he started his contract on or after his 18th birthday and therefore would not complete the minimum 3 years training prior to his 21st birthday. Is there any consideration given as to when actual "training" begins, i.e.: if the player has to wait until pre-season training camp?. If that is the case this (one day) could be a major oversight on the club's part if Vin, Hendrick, etc., will not be eligible to qualify for designation as homegrown players. Being able to register them as homegrown would help mitigate the cost and risk involved and I think that would at least be part of the reasoning behind the club's interest in a "policy" of "recruiting" 16 year old boys.
‼️ Real Madrid’s interest in Pochettino is now confirmed by:• Di Marzio • The Times • Standard • BILD • Relevo • Fabrizio Romano also mentioned Real Madrid admire his style. pic.twitter.com/LMPdzPAdBK— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) March 29, 2023 🚨🎖️| Real Madrid admire Mauricio Pochettino’s style, ideas & the way he is in press conferences. Pochettino seems like a middle ground option. It wouldn't be the worst thing but also probably nobody's preference. Pretty underwhelming especially if it's another quiet summer. I just don't want Raul. Xabi Alonso, Nagelsmann, Zidane, Pochettino all have their advantages and disadvantages.
So he's like Carlo but without the GOAT resume. The perfect middle ground. I mean if your manager fails to win a title this season, then obviously pick a manager who has never won a title.
Poch couldn’t win anything significant with a “super team” I laugh if we end up replacing Carlo with him.
Perfect candidate for management if they have no plans to make significant additions the upcoming transfer period. Easy to sack if he completely messes up.
Don’t disagree. Zidane is the best candidate but he left not on good terms with JAS. Xabi would be second option, I don’t think age is a consideration for him as he’s already been at the club and knows how it works. Nagelsmann is too young potentially and needs a rebound job, Raul is not capable. Pochettino may come out as the default unless Klopp presents himself as an option, which I’m not a fan of.
What nobody wants to admit. We're being badly ran on the sporting side of things. Pooch should literally never be mentioned when speaking for Real Madrid manager. The only good thing that will come out of this is Florentino begging Zidane back publicly by this time next year.
Carlo might want to coach Brazil rather than go another season if offered with no reinforcements. Nobody is saying that Poch is an upgrade to Carlo but somebody needs to take the fall when things don't go well and it won't be the president.
That super team has gone through so many coaches by now we can safely assume the coaching is probably not the only reason why they're losing.
People on here wouldn’t be arsed for Carlo to get the sack and appoint someone like Xabi, who’s only been in top flight for the last 6-7 months. Xabi sits at the table of Poch right. Won nothing significant. Crazy.
I doubt Perez fires him even if he goes trophyless. However he might actually leave for the Brazil job. Who do you suggest would be good options to consider?
Raul has to be top of the list. You can't be on here advocating for promoting Castilla products to the first team and NOT be on board with promoting their head coach. If the idea is that Alvaro Rodri, Arribas and Vinicius Tobias need to move up to the first tram and Carlo needs to be replaced for failing to do this specifically, then the writing is on the wall and RAUL Madrid it is!!
So not using Castilla products and failing to win La Liga is a good reason to consider for firing a coach but managing to compete and earn promotion from the 3rd division to the 2nd division with the same Castilla players is not a good reason to consider for hiring the coaching replacement. Is this some sort of bizarro world where coaches with almost no relationship to the club in a front office or coaching role who have never achieved any similar career accomplishments akin to promotion or qualification to a superior level of competition are given preferential consideration over a product of the Castilla who won all there is to win with the club became Captain and came back to do it all over again as manager.
Not using Castilla players is not a reason to fire any coach (who even said that) and hiring a coach should be on merit. Raul has done nothing to earn that, and that sentiment is echoed in the club it seems.
🚨⚪️ The atmosphere in Real Madrid’s dressing room is not good due to the uncertainty of the contract renewals. Some players have not received any news from the club yet. @marca pic.twitter.com/OS6lIGOq5O— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) March 30, 2023
Why must everything be news? Like, obviously if there are players who are uncertain about their future they might not be in the greatest state of mind, especially when they botched la liga.
The reason this is news is Dragging contract negotiations has a bad impact on team chemistry and don’t forget we’re still competing for UCL.
Everyday that goes by without putting pen to paper Vinicius moves closer to the exit door. People expect patience and stability for youth team player but the club cant even guarantee a bona-fide star like Vinicius a little reassurance regarding who will be the manager in a month or a year. Carlo is simply not afforded the time to spend transitioning youth into first team players, no coach will be given that and Vinny Jr. has to be considering if he wants to have to prove himself to a new coach year after year while having the the club President getting giddy over flirty text messages some French dude periodically sends him.
